Veg*n Women See Veg*n Men As Less Masculine

Postby beforewisdom » Wed Feb 02, 2011 8:20 pm

An e-friend told me a while back that the Daily Mail has a bit of a right wing bias.....sort of like Fox News. I don't know if this is true, but I found the article interesting. A few years ago a vegan friend told me that she thought I was attractive as I had a more masculine personality than the other vegan men she was meeting. I thought this was odd because I often feel like I am not aggressive enough

Real men must eat meat, say women as they turn their noses up at vegetarians

If this is true, these women are wrong. I have a mirror.

I guess there must be a difference in how women answer a poll and how they answer after a few vodka cokes.

Why should I eat meat? If the night's going well that's what she's doing...

"Previous research has found that vegetarians are seen as pacifist, weight-conscious and liberal, while fast-food lovers are perceived as patriotic, pro-nuclear and conservative."

I'll take it!

yes
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

Indeed, in the same manner that bears have on occasion been known to shit in the woods.

Take heart friends, whilst your average DM reader doesn't like us, they hate poofs & darkies a whole lot more.

Jim Morris is a black gay vegan bodybuilder. A few women have been suprised what thoughts they've had about a bloke in his 70s, so that must piss the DM right off. :P

To be fair, what the study showed was that the (fictional) veggies were rated as "less masculine".
Doesn't automatically mean "less attractive". Or that they would find someone less attractive IRL.

"Seen as whimps" is the interpretation of the journalist.

I would have liked to see some stats on how strong the tendency was - this kind of articles tend to make a very big deal of
very small effect sizes.

You are attributing a quote to me that I did not make.

Jim Morris is a black gay vegan bodybuilder.

So it is true, soy does turn people gay?????

I'm not British, to whom does the pejorative "poofs" refer to?
