spartacus workout

Postby penguin » Sat Jan 08, 2011 12:19 pm

anyone else tried this one? First heard of it ~year ago and now been doing it for few weeks and feels good, modified 1 of the stations little bit and replaced another station to other movement. I try to do this 2 times a week added to normal training.

Thanks for sharing the pdf - the cable on my rowing machine broke this weekend and left a "home workout" shaped hole in my life.

It is deceptively challenging... my knees are a bit weak so hopefully all the lunges and squats will help sort them out.

Just out of interest, what did you alter? I've replaced station 8 with regular press-ups as my dumbells are round rather than hex, and am not particularly convinced by station 2 yet.

yeah a bit, I first started with 2 rounds and now I do all 3 rounds. Feels like my stamina has increased, though now special results on strength yet. But I'm able to push more in the final round.

I have also round dumbells, but I manage to do station 8 still, might require bit of concentration. I think station 2 requires quite a pace to be exchausting.

I did alter station 5, instead of jumping I step back to the split position with weights on my hands (like in station 1). This isn't so heavy as the original, but I try to reduce the risk of minor injury.

And I switch the station 7 to plank on elbows and toes, station 7 just feels a bit funny and I don't have enough space to do it properly, maybe I'll give station 7 another go in near future.
