HELP! I seem to have misplaced my pants.

Postby vegcrow » Mon Sep 13, 2010 3:00 pm

Well, not misplaced them, but forgotten them entirely. I rode my bike to work and forgot to bring trousers to change into. Any tips for surviving a day in the office in my lycra sausage casings?

Amazing. I second the thrift store plan or just head back home. Unless you have a really casual office.

Been there. Done that. Three times.

Thrift store during lunch break FTW.
Otherwise, I just stayed in the office all day, and had meetings only from the waist up.
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

Thanks for the tips, no thrift shops nearby, Irvine wouldn't allow a symbol of poverty like that to slip through it's cracks. Luckily I have a very casual office. I went to the student store and bought a pair of sweatpants that I'm currently wearing. I may return them though, they're really not my style. I was glad to see our protests had and effect. I was able to find Made in USA labeled apparel. We had appealed a while ago to drop several of the brands that were made in sweatshops and it looks like we've made some progress.

Lol funnily enough I was worrying about this this morning, when I left early so I could pick up some new trousers on the way to work. I envisioned myself sat at my desk in a shirt and tie plus sweaty shorts. I took a spare pair just in case the shop didn't have any trousers in my length

I leave a pair of pants at work so I haven't had that problem. But one day my fly broke, I don't think anyone noticed, but when and bought new pants at lunch.

I've forgotten a shirt a few times, but leave a jumper at work.

Happened to me once too. Luckily I was working as an erotic dancer at the time so didn't really need the trousers.
