Hi everyone, I'm new here! I love this forum and am so glad I stumbled upon it.
Last night, I ran 10k in 57:30. I was pushing it a little too hard at the beginning of the run because my husband and dog were with me and I think I was trying to impress them. The heat killed me towards the end, but all in all it was a nice run along the river.

Left home and when walking to running place I thought to run fast 8K, then I thought, no I need to do more speed work so I will run everything-I-can 6K, then I got to the running place and realized how hot it had gotten already and decided to run as-fast-as-I-can 5K. So, off I went with a 5min/km pace. After 1.5 km I already thought I am gonna black-out but kept on fighting. I started the first kilometer 5:07 and although I felt like dying I run every kilometer faster and faster. The final kilometer I run 4:33. When finished I felt quite dizzy though and my vision was a bit blurry. Finishing time was 24:19 and I downed almost half a liter of ice tea with low-sodium salt (for better potassium:sodium ratio) during the run but still felt like shit when I finished. Weather was, sunny (cloudless) and temperature +33C (incl. effect of humidity). I just don't manage to get adapted to the heat even I have lived here for almost 15 months. I sweat so much and I feel like I over-heat really easily. Well, just have to keep fighting (in healthy limits), or some one should be providing me all the time ice cold drinks on the way 8)

Edit: This thread is getting to a topic of "Miserable runs of E-P in tropics" but it is 2 pm now and I am feeling really f*ck*ng bad (again). I promise that I will never ever run here any more when the sun is up. Only night runs to me!

4 mile warmup
3 x 1 mile repeats (4:50, 4:52, 4:57) w/ 3:00 recovery
4 mile cool down

Had my first run for 9 days after being ill. Lovely to run in the cool Scandinavian climate. I run some 45 min. and didn't dehydrate or anything.

ps. Had to buy running thighs now because of the climate. My friends (non.runner) where laughing at me but what ever they are so comfortable

Did some 400's with my dad on muddy trail. He's still pretty fast for a 53 year old.

Just had 2 weeks off with manflu. Ran just over 16 miles hilly. It was really hard, I was slow, over mins/mile. Exhausted at the end.
You can see my training log if you're really bored: www.veganfitness.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16086&start=360

Have only ran 12km in the last 48 days and busted out a 1:33 half marathon to place 7th overall in the Davao City half marathon in the Philippines.

Ive never sweated so much in my life!!

The race started at 4:30am so it was the first hour in darkness. Quite surreal running when Im normally sleeping tight.
