front shocks problem any ideas?

Hey guys, front shocks are making a weird knocking sound after tonights ride when I compress the release its like there is a few mill of jump before the rebound catches... any ideas that might prevent a really expensive shock service... they are fox float 32s. Chris

weird clunks are normal for fox

seriously... after checking obvious things like headset tightness, take wheel out and compress fork on the floor to eliminate the wheel etc, then it's a stripdown to check the rebound piston i'd guess.

doesn't fox have pretty good DIY service manuals? could be worth looking into doing a service yourself.

Cheers for the advice guys, I am returning the forks to Mojo who are going to sort them out for free under my warranty.

Few days - that's quick!

It's normally a few weeks at least for stuff to turn round under warranty - you could borrow my Pikes to stick on the front in the meantime if it turns out to be that long. Same travel as them Fox's so wouldn't alter it too much. They've got a 20 mm bolt through maxle though, so may need a spare wheel as well?

They said they know what the problem is... something to do with roughening up a surface in order to allow the fluid from one chamber into another?!
