Hey guys, Kath here (Hal's fiance)...... just thought I would update you all on his sterling performance so far. He came out of the swim exactly as scheduled in 2hrs 15mins and 32 secs and in third place overall which is awesome! He's now on his third lap of the bike course, completing them exactly as predicted in 55 mins each with a 5 min gap for food...... so we can trying to cram in the calories to him, which you fellow vegans will know aint that easy!
The promoters keep making reference to the burger van parked near the transition, but something tells me Hal won't be frequenting their establishment!!
Will update more later, but he is all good and still full of beans (ahem)!!

Hey all, Kath here again..... thanks for all your messages of support and yes, he really is called Hal too, but this is short for Hallam, not sure if your name is?
So, it's been a long time since the last post (sorry - as you can imagine been busy supporting him) but I am really please to say that he is off the bike and now a marathon down into his double marathon to the finishing straight!
He has been doing so well since getting off the bike, which was painful and annoying by the end, and the change of scenery (and muscle groups) have been doing him the world of good. He just had some treatment for a few blisters and a little power nap between marathons and is back out there pounding hard to the end.
I cannot comprehend what he is undertaking and don't think I ever will, but I am so proud of him. I am sure inside he has been giving himself some major pep talks to keep going, but at least he is a natural born runner so ending on quite a high from a great swim too.
Thanks loads for all your kind notes, I think the next post you get on here will be from the man himself unless the thought of posting that he has finished himself might just be a steo too far, in which case I will do it for him and steal his glory one last time!
GO VEGANS that's all I can say, I am sure there are people out there who simply think this can't be done as one........ x

Go Hal!

Cheers for the updates Kath, when I think what I've been up to since reading the first one it puts into perspective just how long this event takes. Hope he's good at the end and you've got some relaxation planned for afterwards.

Hey guys.... I'll update late when I vaguely sane (no sleep for 40 hours and constant sport for 30 makes my brain very mushy).

I'm a double ironman :-) .... Whoop! But I'm in some pain, being driven home. Mental race.... Wore vegan kit ALL day and night and hopefully did us proud :-).

Thanks loads for all the love and encouragement :-)
