C25k running program = 3km this arvo. Sore calves & feet from wearing bloody heels at work today (not a good idea if you want to run later  ) Flats tomorrow to save my legs/feet for a bit......

Weighed in this a.m. also - another 400gms down which I'm thrilled about. May not sound huge but I'm not that huge myself anymore so my weight loss will slow now I reckon. Still doing the right thing foodwise & feeling great still. Getting heaps of compliments at work with people who haven't seen me in ages, today: quote "can I say something here without fear of getting slapped in the face or what?" (from an older guy at work I haven't seen for about 3 months) - I say yeah and pretend to slap him anyway whilst laughing, quote "have you lost weight or what????" Me = yep, smile!!!!! Every little loss whilst going it on my own and not on the challenge anymore is a win in my books!

Hope you're all training great this week! The weather really sucks here right now, 2 deg C yesterday a.m. so just indoors workouts for me for now - boo!

No training since last Thurs until today......due to one of our best friends being in hospital with a torn aorta. He was in ICU, he and his wife are from the US living over here for work for several years. So they pretty much have no one here for them, no family so I've been off to the hospital and helping out as much as possible. 80% of people who get a disected aorta die. Wow - so scary. He is home now and resting on BP meds, gotta see specialist again soon for further treatment. So, been a bit out of whack with working out and been staying out late at hospital and eating dinner at like 9pm - not good.

Back into it today. Just felt like heading to the gym after work. Bit bummed with the break as wasn't sure how my running program would be. I'm was up to running longer periods but decided to drop it back to the previous week so I don't push it too hard. Will do a couple of those sessions then back up to week 4 again.

And drum roll.............................. :D ....................................... did deadlifts!!!!! Yay yay yay!!!!!!

Leg press sets 15 reps from 20kg all the way up to 50kg, tried 60kg which is what I could do during the 12 week challenge, bit heavy for now
Leg extension 3 sets 15 reps at 15kg - sore after leg press
Leg curl 3 sets 15 reps at 25kg
Deadlifts 1 set 12 reps at 20kg, 1 set 12 reps at 30kg

So happy, doing the deadlift happy dance........felt great!

ZUMBA baybeeeeeeeeeee.....

First Zumba class today - wow wow wow. I had heard all the hype and wasn't sure but it's awesome! Suppose it depends on your class teacher but ours was great, he could really move and shake it!

So we learnt how to shake what your momma gave ya.......lots of shimmying and booty shakin'. Got a good cardio workout in which I wasn't sure if it would stack up but it did. Bit confusing cos some bits are super fast but I'll stick with it and try again.

Fun to try something new and apparently it you give it your all and really get stuck in you can burn 1000 calories a class (well that's what the instructor said anyway) I was like - whoa - who needs RPM anymore :) :) :)

Oh yeah and the mooosika made me want to go and eat salsa & chips & drink tequila! 8)

This week has been a bit of a blow out for me..... :( trying to get back into the swing today and tomorrow and aiming for better consistency this next week.....

Mon - zippo :(
Tues - 6pm RPM
Wed - 6pm Zumba
Thurs/Fri - nothing but ate like crazy & also drank some alcohol, not good too many empty calories on useless food & drink :(
Sat - 10am RPM

Still need to fit some weights in somewhere during the week. I've slacked off on my running too which makes me sad but it's been bothering my kidney stone issue a bit so I'm wary of overdoing it. Always feel great after a run tho so might try to fit some into the week somewhere too! Weather still way too cold which is v.unmotivating to me - double

Need to move somewhere warm, trying to make some plans & investigate potential employment etc. This cold weather here sucks!

ahh, the OTHER side of the world. here it's hot and humid. you don;t get snow though right?

it's a double-edged sword. i like doing my outdoor cardio workouts when its colder. but i like doing my lifting when its warmer.

not that i should speak, but watch the booze intake when dealing w/ kidney stones. i've never had'em, but my dad used to suffer terribly. i think alcohol doesn't help except in the moment.

great job otherwise divergirl.

Hey vegan hal

Yep, cold cold here but no snow.......we do get snow but it's on the east coast and up in the mountains where the ski resorts are. So die hard snow/winter fans can head there to ski etc but you don't have to deal with the day to day living in the snow/ice thing. I used to live in Washington State and Michigan and never enjoyed the snow! Way to cold for a little Aussie like me who is a sunshine lover!!!!!

I've been slack this week again - due to the cold weather and also man flu has invaded our house. My poor hubby has been sick since Tuesday so I've been staying home with him and trying to help him with drinks etc & just company. I've only done Zumba this week. I've been watching my eating tho to stay good which is helpful. Feeling a bit blah tho which is from lack of exercise I reckon.

Yeah - the good old kidney stones, had 2 now and one lingering one. It's much better during winter tho so not too bad. It's during the hot weather and when I really work out that I need to be exceptionally careful. Altho - I often get sick of worrying about it and just think oh well I'm gonna live (alcohol, drinking a normal amount of H20 not the excessive amounts I HAVE to drink now, eating whatever - soy is bad for my kidney stones  as is anything super green boo!) and if I end up in hospital oh well I end up in hospital. Nothing quite like morphine for kidney stones

Gotta get back to weights too.....this week is the key. Oh yeah - might have a new job on the horizon which could involve a very quick interstate move - ugh, so much to think about and plan. We'll see....
