The one and only vegan cupcake from the new Sweet Tooth Cup Cakery, 34-36 Oldham St, Manchester, M1 1JN ... 0161 236 3877

They also have vegan milkshakes.

Businesses at this address tend to open and close quickly so get your vegan cupcakes while you can!

Pity it's a chocolate cake, but thanks for the tip. If it's still there by the time I can walk again, I'll check it out.

Coupla updates:

Earth Cafe has extended its opening hours:
Mon-Fri 11am-4pm (Tues & Fri late opening until 8pm)
Sat & Sun 10am-5pm

...so now people with jobs can actually go in again!

The Thirsty Scholar has extended its menu and now has a burger platter and a hummous platter for two. Both cost just under £8 and are huge - I only just managed to eat the hummous one without assistance and it took me an hour.

12 noon - 9 pm daily and yes, it is Martin doing the food.

The few things that don't look vegan on the menu can be made vegan on request.

I've just got a job in Oldham, which means I'll be passing through Ashton Under Lyne to get there. This means I'll be going dangerously near Lily's most evenings.

Update; I went into the Thirsty Scholar shortly before 7pm on Wednesday and the people behind the bar were baffled by my request for food. So it looks like the 12 noon to 9pm I'd previously been told is bollocks.

I do know that Martin knocks off at 6, so perhaps it is a bit haphazard whether they continue to serve when he isn't there. I'll investigate.

I need to withdraw my recommendation for Dough.

I went there last night and walked out. They've changed the menu and all the vegan-friendly options are now rubbish unless you like mushrooms :x

Oh no! I can't stand mushrooms!
Last time i was there, about two months ago, they seemed to be able to alter things, like I think I got something with, say, spinach instead of mushrooms. Having four flavours of Swedish glacé to choose from was great.

What makes you say that?

I went there 3 times with the old menu and each time had really friendly service and a tasty, filling pizza with twice the amount of toppings as the Cornerhouse, but for the same price. They had all kinds of things like capers, basil oil, hummous and aubergine. The new menu has none of those.

our pizza was pathetic, yeah it had vegan cheeze and then some kind of sprinkling of veg - people next to us had non vegan pizzas of same price which where full of tons of different kind of things, veg included. So that pissed me off enough to never return :)
