Monday

10k walk (chips and peas)

10k bike followed by 2.5k run.

I am going sockless on Sunday.

How very unBritish: we didn't conquer India by going sockless (on a SUNDAY at that!!) you know.

My prefered plan would be to get the new Subaltern and the dashed lazy good for nothin' dobhi wallah do it for me but there's probably some pointless bloody rule against it. Bloody Yorkshire; damn its eyes I say.

Just off for Pink Gin or two - purely for the Tonic you know; 'nother case of the dashed Malaria what? Ha!

God save the Empire eh?

Sockless? You'd best give your very pukka memsahib a buckshee hoop dhobi as penance for your pending mufti dacoit-ery.

What job? I've got a choice of working 12+ hour days and losing most weekends but getting a good salary or having oodles of spare time but no money... what's the secret to having both?

Got a bloody chest infection.

Thought it was just asthma at the beginning of the week and have continued to plan for tomorrows tri in spite.

But just dragged myself to Cleveleys and back and cannot go above a slow walk.

I've written tomorrow's event off. Will rest and regroup for the next one. This is the revenge of inprudence in the Himalaya in the past :( (and living off fags instead of food until I was 40).

Not even a slight temptation to blame the volcanic ash? I added it to the Unit20 excuse book just in case I need it.

Bugger. Good thinking though - rest, recuperate, regroup and crack on.

Sorry to hear it Duke. That's so frustrating, but nothing you can do. Ready for next time.

It started before the old volcano began to spew forth from its fiery deeps I’m afraid.

It is just an upper respiratory infection; no sign of asthma at all. Unfortunately, my supply of Asian anti-biotics has run out and I only “do” doctors when I have either severed or snapped a body part!!

Yup. Hopefully shake this off by the weekend. I have now not trained properly for a month what with the back injury and now this.

However, stay positive.

I have a little open water swim and run at the end of May and then a X-country try mid June. Shouls get my act together by then.

At least you can enjoy the fact that you are now referring to things as "a little open water swim". Compare that to what you might have called it a few months back! :D

1/2 mile FC in 25 mins.

Plenty more in the tank. Not flat out. Could easily have carreid on for ages. Just don't want to overdo it first day back.

Well, raise your glasses to an injury and illness free summer for me please.

Good skills that man.

Let me just find something mellow, yellow, odourous and suitably Scottish.
