I tried to find peoples experiences about it and all I could find was some american people who'd put themselves on youtube. Impressing results I have to say but I would've needed more basic info how their workout went and so on.
The workout itself is based on muscle confusion and getting "ripped"
Those of you who are wondering, no I didn't buy the dvd's but I got them borrowed. And I'm not following the diet plan because I'm not that interested in fat burning. But I'm eating my normal vegetarian diet and added some more protein.
I want to get bigger muscles and hopefully this homeworkout helps..or I have to go to the gym :/
I took a day 1 picture (it's a bit blurry) of myself, which I'm posting after I've completed day 30 and taken picture (I try to take this one properly).
The first month of the program consist of the following:
Weeks 1, 2, and 3
Day 1 – Chest and Back, plus Ab Ripper X
Day 2 – Plyometrics
Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X
Day 4 – Yoga X
Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6 – Kenpo X
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch
The p90x workout schedule for week 4 is supposed to be a recovery week after hitting it hard six days a week for three weeks.
P90x Workout Plan Week 4
Day 1 – Yoga X
Day 2 – Core Synergistics
Day 3 – Kenpo X
Day 4 – X Stretch
Day 5 – Core Synergistics
Day 6 – Yoga X
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch
The first week (which was last week) I was working at the construction site at the same time. So that week went a bit over the top. Basically I was doing muscle exercices 10 hours a day. I managed to do 5 days and was a bit sick (ate too old tofu) on the 6th and 7th day so those were just resting for me.
This week I did monday and tuesday and noticed that I still hadn't recovered from last week so wednesday was a rest day. I moved the program so that thursday was actually wednesday's workout and so on. And that worked for me, today I did the day 5 workout and that's the last workout of this week. So I haven't done any of that Kenpo X or X Stretch. But so far the exercices have been very good and hard. Basically each workout is 1 or 1 and a half hour long and I'm always completely exhausted after I'm finished
And a little about the exercices:
Anything else except Yoga X and Plyometrics is weight lifting and doing a hell of a lot push-ups and pull-ups and squatting. Plyometrics is a lot of "jumping" and squatting..it really makes your ass hurt the next day:) To me Yoga X feels like a physical workout. It doesn't have any of that energy, calmness and feeling that ashtanga yoga gives you. It feels like a workout which is made exactly for this program doing some variations of yoga moves. But nonetheless, it is good physical workout.
But not in a million years I would change ashtanga yoga for anything else. I absolutely love it and starting it 3 years ago was the best decision in my life but that's another topic
For me, p90x feels like a perfect home workout program. I'm not into hitting gyms and doing a home workout that consist of every muscle group it's a pain in the ass if I don't have that "gym leader" or what ever you call it.
I take this 90 days experiment seriously and if it pays off, I will continue it.
I will update this log maybe once a week or whatever it feels like. Next week is a no-workout-week for me cause I'm getting my tattoo done..if I can only manage the pain
So, if anyone has any questions or anything you're welcome to comment!
