Would you eat it? Or give it a miss?

I eat. Just means was made on same equipment also used to process dairy foods. If I can't eat them, then I can't eat on any surface that may have had dairy on it. What am I going to do? Not eat at people's houses? Throw out my china? My kitchen counter?

Seriously, everything in moderation.

What if it says "May contain traces of meat"... Would you eat it then?

no difference really. eating a vegan dish at a restaurant serving meat will likely mean you're eating traces of non-vegan food (including meat). to me the difference is only aesthetical, non-vegan food is non-vegan, and traces are traces.
--- non-racers. the emptiness of those lives shocks me ---

Saw "may contain traces of fish" on a sachet of tomato sauce the other day and decided to do without. I do agree with what Fredrikw says but it does still feel a bit different to me when its stated that might contain meat/fish

The Green and Blacks chocolate labelling thread is a reasonable case study in how this is getting out of hand and putting off vegans.

In that instance the company decided that they could not guarantee contamination by dairy products to be less than five parts per million in all instances, which is the theoretical minimum amount required to kick off an allergic reaction. And amended their labelling to be highly conservative. There are people out there that like to play anaphylaxis roulette.

If one took an equivalent stance against class A drugs by boycotting anything containing them to the vegans that stopped eating G&B as a result of the above, one would have to try living life without folding money, as the median banknote contains something like ten times that concentration of cocaine.

Is it possible that you had an older bar?

I'm not sure if they've actually changed back to their older policy.

Either way, all your questions answered at

Especially the bottom section. Note it says their recipe has not changed since 1998.

Veganism is not a religion, I don't consider vegan items "evil" if they have come in the vicinity of meat. For me, it's an ethical orientation, and fanaticism does not belong there.

I see nothing wrong about it, as far as I know this is not that bad for health and it will not poison me? I will eat it. AND IT'S NOT A MEAT.
