You need to swim, cycle and run. So no need to worry about the walking?

That's just the kind of inspiration I need.

Now if only you can come up with something to get around the running and cycling?

What's puzzling me is that swimming was my weakest event two months ago and now it is my strongest!

Just think how fresh you'll be for the tri with the time off! Not always a bad thing. :) You probably won't lose any fitness - it'll just be in your head. What are the distances?

It's nowt but a baby pool based sprint. It'll all be over after 90 minutes.

It's just a taster for the Olymipic Tris I've entered over the summer.

But it will be the first time that I have swam, cycled, run back to back without a break. Now I know the advice would be to try it before the event but the whole purpose of this little event is that that is the time I will try it for the first time. If I tried it before doing it then I've no need to do it eh?

I just need to relax about it and stop climbing the walls.

I had some rather good codeine knocking about (which I became addicted to alarmingly quickly  - it's a pain killer to be used with caution - there were very obvious withdrawel symptoms after just four days)

I have heard of these things in my readings, but never actually met anyone with one.

Codeine is one to watch as one of its metabolites is morphine.

A good one is 500mg paracetamol with 10 mg of codeine, I get prescribed that as a "my back is all fooked up at 0300h and I need to be able to crawl to the toilet to avoid swamping my pit" drug.

No wonder you're hooked then! May as well just give you a morphine autoinjector and be done with it.

I don't think you can get any more than 500/7.5 OTC any more. Would stop the kids whizzing around off their tits on Meow-meow (allegedly) if they did.

nahhh, you'll have a great time. I think sprints are the most fun distance. It's all about fun, roight? I know several people who do an Ironman as their first ever tri. The sprint will be over before you know it - except maybe that last couple of kms of the run! :P

Oh, I definately spent a few days "on the nod" as they say - or err "apparantly" say.

It was good though!
