Raw cacao beans

Postby Ombah » Tue Feb 23, 2010 11:02 am

I have some raw cacao beans. Very healthy! But the problem is that I don't know what to do with them? It's not so good eating them as they are. Any tips?

How about putting them in a coffee grinder and adding them to homemade energy bars or puddings?

They are very healthy in that form but hard to eat - grind 'em up as someone suggested, mix with agave nectar and coconut oil, freeze in little cubes/squares or some type of mold, and enjoy! Add other spices as you see fit.

I grind them in a coffee grinder and put 'em in my morning smoothies. My regular a.m. smoothies consist of frozen mangos, blueberries, a banana, orange juice, soy milk, ground cacao, ground flaxseed, chlorella and spirulina and half a lemon. I love the cacao in there! Yum!
