Hey all, I was just thinking to open a topic about this because I came across of a very simple vegan yogurth recipe. It was in the December edition of Oxygen I think (No, I am not ordering or buying this magazine my gf happened to find it from her working place and thought I might find it interesting. Honestly :D !). Anyway, it went something like this;

Tofu yogurth:

- 1 packet of tofu
- 1/2 cup of blue berries
- 1/2 cup of strawberries
- 1 tbs of lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp of vanilla powder (or what ever it is called)

Blend it all and it is ready.

I don't know about other parts of the world and don't remember the prices in UK but at least here in Q. Roo, Mexico this recipe was the best thing I could had asked! Not that much soya yogurths available. I haven't done this yet but I was also thinking that throughing in few tbspoons of soya milk powder (what is available) the yogurth would have higher nutritious value (esp. B12). OF course you can also fiddle around with different fruits and berries to put in there.

Once I have a stick mixer/blender I'll report the good versions.

hardcore i've gotta try that yoghurt!!

and just for interest i have found a couple of vegan probiotic powders... but they are hella expensive!!

In Liven is made by Miessence and $70-$80 for a small jar
and Tony Sfeirs Probiotic Boost is a total rip off at $65 for a small jar...

i'm sure its much cheaper to get them overseas anyway :D

Ok, made the yogurth now 2 posts up. I made it actually with; packet of tofu, 2 big table spoon of soya milk powder, 2-3 dl water, 2 bananas, 1/2 cup of strawberries, 1 tbs of lemon and few tbs of vanilla liquid. IT TASTES GREAT! With the soya milk powder and water I also got much larger quantity (about one litre!) and it ended up costing me maybe 50 pesos! The only downside is that my soya milk powder is not calcium-riched so this yogurth lacks calcium and maybe next time one banana less and a bit more strawberries and it will be perfect 8)

Yes, D3 is most commonly derived from lanolin, which is from sheep wool. However, vegan D3 is possible and is available in some products, like vital greens here in Australia.
