Recently devoured 'Grandville' by Bryan Talbot. The most beautifully illustrated graphic novel I have ever seen, and a cracking storyline to boot.

World Without End by Kenneth Folllett
I read Pillars of the Earth this time last year and adored that one. WWE is good but not as good in my opinion.
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
and I'm now reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks.. my friends and I are going to see the movie and I always want to read the book first, ha

"Post Office" by Charles Bukowski. Great book, although I enjoyed "Pulp"even more. Reading "Factotum" now.

Yeah I loved that one! Really gives you a great feeling of "Screw all this, I'm doing it my way". Which is probably not what I need, but it's good fun to feel reckless every so often :lol:

Awesome book. Really making me feel I should drop my psych major and pursue a hard science.

i just read book one of the millenium trilogy by stieg larsson. i zipped through it and have ordered the next two
currently reading Barbara Kingslover-Animal vegetable Miracle, great so far!
and have a book called Beans-by Ken Albala which looks like a goodin that im going to get into next.
happy reading at my house at the moment,just not enough time to do it!

getting back into diving...

Just read Diver Down, The Shadow Divers and The Last Dive. All of them were pretty good. I'm really itching to get back in the water, but its still snowing out here and I don't have an ice-diver C-card yet...

Read a few books while in India - plenty of travelling time to absorb a book or two...

Just finished "Mishima's Sword". It was okay, but the author seems to have hell keeping his thoughts together, the book needed an editor and Mishima was a pretty messed up individual.

The most interesting parts were the author's travels through Japan... of course, I've always wanted to go out there to check it out, so I'm not sure if it would be as interesting to someone who didn't plan on heading out there.

I finally read The Vagina Monologues.
-I don't think I need to give a review of this one.

One of my mentors gave me The Four Agreements.
-Basic self-help book. The Agreements are: Have impeccable speech, don't judge, don't take things personally, and be your best.

I just finished Beige, which was recommended to me by one of my students.
-Teen fiction based on a story of a girl estranged from her punk rocker father. She finds her father and voice in 300 pages. Neat-o.
Pretty is as pretty does.

Finished 'Infidel' by Hirsi Ali... Damn good book, actually. Really depressing, but also rather informative.

Also 'Ancient Chinese Weapons: A Martial Artist's Guide" by Jwing Ming. Not too bad. I am thinking I wouldn't mind taking a Chinese art one of these days. I've taken about six Japanese arts (still taking four of them) and one Korean (when I was a kid), but haven't ever taken a Chinese artform.

I just recently read this too!! So great :D

I also finished reading the Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson... So good. really enjoyed them. Not usually one for pulp fiction but I could not put the damn books down. I would get twitchy and couldn't concentrate at work.
