Hi from South Wales

Postby eBrooker » Sat Jan 23, 2010 1:13 am

Hi All :-)

I'm not a Vegan, but am considering it - especially as I have quite a limited diet anyway.... what's a few more on the avoid list eh?

I don't have milk, yeast, sugar - and try to steer clear from things like wheat/bread etc. I posted a thread asking for your favourite recipes - as I'm not much of a cook and need inspiration! So hope some of you will participate there.

I work in computers, and actually run a few of my own community orientated sites - which seem to take up pretty much all my spare time.

Fitness wise, I go on my exercise bike every other day for 40 mins or so - use the sit up bench a couple of times a week and occasionally do some biceps curls when I remember!

Here's an example of some of the stuff I eat, my cereal:

Which is:

...Organic where possible...
Rice Puffs
Oat puffs
Pumpkin seeds
Sunflower seeds
Pine nuts
Soya nuts
Golden linseeds
Steel cut oats
Cranberries
Apple
Rice Dream (milk substitute)

I have it at least once a day! It's just quick and easy, and relatively healthy.

Anyway - hope to join in here as and when I can :)

Hello and welcome.

That cereal looks good! I add seeds and raisins to mine.

If you're cutting stuff out, you might want to think more along the lines of adding stuff so there's no room for your remaining animal products. There's so many grains and veggies out there you can pack your diet with them.

Thanks for the welcome everyone :)

Konstantin - seeds are great, raisins (if they're dried) not so. The reason is because the drying process encourages bacteria (mold) growth.

I hear you re adding stuff to my diet - I need to eat more pulses for sure!

Downhillingdemon - it's yum! The cranberries and apple go really really well together. Try it sometime!
