Vegan Feedback - Contact details for food etc. companies

Postby Hiking Fox » Mon Dec 21, 2009 2:59 pm

Regularly updated. Please post any errors, changes or omissions below and I will add them to this list.

Please contact Subway to ask them:

1. Is their Veggie Patty vegan? (Even if you hate the place, the more people who ask, the greater the perceived demand will be if it isn't vegan).

2. To introduce a hummous option so that we can get hummous and salad sandwiches there. Point out that many vegetarians don't eat cheese, so they are missing out on a segment of the market.

Costa Coffee shops/kiosks
Please ask them to clarify whether their hot chocolate with soya milk is vegan, as people are being told conflicting things in outlets.

Sainsbury's Supermarkets
In particular, they need feedback over their inconsistent product labelling.

Freephone: Sainsbury's Careline 0800 636 262

or fill in the form on their website: http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/contact_us/contact_us.jsp

ASDA Supermarkets
They prefer enquiries and comments about the selection available in individual shops to be directed to the manager of that store.
http://www.asda.co.uk/corp/storelocator_frameset/storelocator_frameset.htm
General comments can be made on the form here:
http://your.asda.com/section-contact-asda

They also have a phone line, which I believe is free: 0844 481 5000

Tesco Supermarkets
They have a customer services line which is not free: 0845 7225533 (8am to 11pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm Saturday and 10am to 6pm Sunday)

EDIT - Tesco now have a customer feedback form on their website: http://www.tesco.com/help/contact/contactus4.asp

Co-op Supermarkets Please complain about them vastly reducing their range of vegan products in recent years. It might be an idea to comment favourably on their large range of vegan, non-animal tested cosmetics and household products at the same time:

I'm told they don't accept email or online queries, and sure enough their website does not have a comments form or email address. Does anybody know differently?

I e-mailed 'customer.services@tesco.co.uk' some time ago about vegan products, and got this:

Thank you for your email.

We were pleased to receive your comments regarding Vegan food.

We find all customer feedback incredibly valuable as this helps us when we are looking at ways to make our service better. I would like to assure you that I have fully logged the points you have made. These will be directed to the correct area of the business.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to get in touch with us.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting TES6156663X.

Kind Regards

Never heard anything else though.

Hey fox,

if possible, could you collate all to the first post so it would be a nice up to date list of current issues? Much like the strength/running tables, list of vegan athletes etc work. And if any updates, post to the thread so it jumps up again to everyone to see.

Then there are more general contact details for things which dont have a "campaign" or a single product/ingredient which we want changing.

I'll sticky this one, it has potential :D

Thanks Fox!

Keedokey, on it now.

BTW, can I respectfully request that people don't open up discussions in this thread? If you want to sound off about Nestle or Tesco being evil bastards, please start up another thread. This is purely for practical reasons.

Obviously, updates, additions and personal experiences with company contact details are relevant here.

Please post any contact addresses and requests for action in the thread and I will regularly copy the details into the first post.

What's the matter with Sainsburys? Am I missing something?

Comments were made about them not labelling vegan products as vegan, creating confusion.

Mmm, yeah that does sound a bit duff. Still better than Morrisons by a country mile-short-jog-and-a-long-spit.

Have we just given up on them? They are from Bradford, where tripe is classed as a vegetable...

This doesn't appear to be run by vegans, but their whole range is marked as suitable for vegetarians and vegans, with the single exception of the harris tweed scarf:

Emailed Costa the other day as it has been bothering me that they have so many items which could easily be vegan (granola bars, flapjacks) but aren't. I can deal with a cheese and ham sandwich not being vegan, I find it hard to swallow granola bars not being.

Got this reply today:
Dear Claire
Thank you for your email.

I do sympathise with the predicament of finding specialist food to eat in non-specialist outlets.

I have passed your feedback to our Food and Marketing teams for consideration ahead of the next menu launch.

I apologise for any disappointment, but hope to welcome you back to Costa in the very near future.

Kind regards

Jodi Roach
