ah ok, sorry, this is pretty UK specific

For four years the factory farmed X Factor winners have nailed xmas number 1 hits. An internet campaign started to try to get Rage Against the Machine song Killing in the name of as the number 1. It is leading at the moment and looks like it could become the xmas number 1 at this rate.

Tons of web sites, blogs, facebook groups and messages, youtube clips and so on have mushroomed around to support this campaign.

I think it is a bit of a non-issue, but funny nevertheless, so worth the few pennies it takes to support it

I haven't been following this, so I don't know all the details, but there was something in the paper about how Rage Against the Machine are signed to Sony Records and Simon Cowell has got some sort of link to Sony, so he wins either way and may even have set the whole thing up.

I didn't really read the article properly, so I may have got that wrong.

I've not heard the song but I do hate x-factor pop rubbish. If a song is in the charts these days then I usually ignore it. There's so much great music that will never get in the mainstream media.

Hehe, I still kind of remember the first time I heard it, and talking about it in school afterwards . I even played in a rage against the machine cover band, with the very inspired name 'rage against the maskin' .
