how about a big meetup in UK?

april/may 2010

any ideas for races?

Personally would prefere road race over 5k or 5m or 10k.

Post here if you have race ideas and/ or if you want to come.

We can book a hostel and or people can travel on the day if from uk.

I'd be up for something. Last year there we managed to get a team for the Stockport 10. ( http://www.stockportharriers.com/race.htm )
I'm planning on doing it again this year for vegan runners (it's on 13th December). Would be nice to get a team again. Runner - if you fancy that you are welcome to stay at mine. I could get tickets for the Liverpool v Arsenal game the day before.

In April there is normally a big meet up at the London Marathon but the marathon is a bit far for most people. I'll keep an eye out for suitable races around that time.

is a bit an offer I can't refuse. Race + MATCH.

AndyO Total respect to your friend doing the BG Round. I have just finished reading Feet in the Clouds and I am totally in awe of the guys that do those long rounds. Lets hope this weather improves.

Stockport does not look promising for me at the moment. I haven't ran properly in over 3 weeks now because of tendonitis in foot. If it gets better I will run round but I won't be fit!

Still hoping VRUK get a team of 3 though. Runner and Matt Woodman will be there and hopefully 1 or 2 more.

Runner - Liverpool v Arsenal is actually on Sunday afternoon after the race but we can still make it.

Will be up for a big meet up in the spring!

A few from the Runners World website....

Southbourne fast & flat 10K 7th March (ok, more south than south west)
City of Salisbury 10M also on 7th March
The black death run (10M) 9th May - a little more challenging!
Poole 10K 6th June
This series of races looks good too: Endurancelife Coastal Trail Series (various locations/dates)

Any preference/other ideas?
