i nearly cried when eating the first falafel in germany shortly after coming home. damn you, german falafel huts, damn you germany!

Unfortunately I was devastated to find out that I have only eaten falafel, as far as I know, in:

Czech Republic

This can't be possible. I need to do some serious travelling and falafel-eating!! Can't believe I've never had any in Germany, Belgium, or Australia - 4 places I've eaten a lot of food, and a lot of snack food at that. How did I let this happen?

I had falafel today and it was possibly the best I've ever had. Then later today I found a box of falafel mix in my pantry that I'd forgotten about. More falafel tomorrow!

Whats up with that? Falafels without tahini!?!

They offer some lame dairy based yoghurt dressing instead.

So i end up eating a dry falafel with some chilli sauce on it. Suboptimal.

This is the way we've been getting them in Uppsala forever (with some exceptions). While I agree it is not optimal, falafel with only spicey tomatoe sauce has a nostalgic value for me .

as i just finished having falafel for lunch just now, i couldnt help but wonder, why more places do not offer this delicious combo by default: falafel balls, and then salad bar, couple different kinds of cous cous salads, buckwheat herb thingie, hummous, pasta, spicy potatoes, mushrooms...

No need for pita bread or stuff like that. This made me feel happy, even if there was no tahini.

The best falafel I've ever had, is strangely enough in Ann Arbor, MI. It really is. The falafel I has in France was amazing, and *almost* as good. The falafel in Washington square park in NYC was amazing too... but for some reason, that one sandwich at Jerusalem Gardens in tiny Ann Arbor Michigan is the definitive falafel sandwich.

Hey JP, the place on Wilmslow road called Falafel has tahini, though you have to ask for it. They also have humous sometimes.

I use to live almost next door to it and had falafel in a naan for breakfast several times a week. This led to MASSIVE STRENGTH INCREASE.

yeah they are the only place in manchester that offers tahini that i know of. Havent checked the new place couple doors down though - they look pretty authentic.
