VF Week 2010 in Germany?

Postby jakob » Mon Aug 03, 2009 12:43 pm

If there is interest i would like to organise a Vegan Fitness Week & Strength Gathering 2010 in Germany at the Lake of Constance ( Bodensee ) .
We would have lots of lifting, powerlifting, strongman a.s.o.
maybe with small competitions
I could bring my lifting stuff (oly bar, bench, squat stands, strongman equipment )directly to the lodging.

We have really nice trails here for Mountainbiking, so mtb´ers are welcome ( cc, freeride, downhill what ever you want ) I would organise some friends of me as tourguides.

We have 2 Airports nearby (~60km), Zürich and Friedrichshafen so its easy to get here.
There is a great vegan restaurant nearby and they offer luxurious catering.

I would seek a housing directly at the lake.
Possible Housing:
http://www.naturfreundehaus-bodensee.de/bootshaus.php

The earlier I can start to plan, the better lodging we would get.

I open the poll for 28 days, and then if enough people agree, especially the admins i would start organising.

Sounds excellent!

One thing you should think about though is that it's quite a lot of work for one person, and it's a good idea to have more people involved in the planning so the whole thing doesn't rely on one single person. Also, considering what activities you listed it might be good to have some more people not into strength sports involved in the planning 8)

Yeah, that is what i though of too... atm i am the only VF´er here, but i have a vegan friend here and i am sure he will help. i will just ask him to join the forum.

Just some thoughts for other activities:

- water skiing (hopefully i will have my own boat next year!!!)
- canoeing
- climbing (outdoor and/or indoor) , my friend is a vegan climber, and i think we have one of the biggest climbing halls here in europe from the german alps club (DAV).

and i think there will be loads of people willing to organise a workshop for anything.

Earlier it is the better for me, but not too early as I need the air in the Unit to work its magic. Any chance of getting an octagon so we can take turns on XkillerX?

There's a possibility I could make it to this. I'll be in Germany in June 2010 and will be kicking around Europe until late July, maybe into August. I'll know my exact schedule by later this year.

Armwrestling would be absolutely essential.
I'd like to request an odd-object/forgotten lifts challenge eg. max zercher lift, bent press, thick dumbbell one armed press, two hands anyhow w/barbell + kettlebell etc
"I've been doing a lot of running, swimming, cycling, well, I mean, you know how it is..."

-"NO. Actually I don't know, I play real sports, I'm not trying to be the best at exercising."
