Vegan MTB meet up, Malvern, 26.7.09

Postby Big Good Wolf » Mon Jul 13, 2009 11:23 am

We're sticking with having our biking meet ups on the same day as the Vegan3Counties meets at St Ann's Well Cafe.

The usual format. the same few regulars will meet at Westminster Bank at 10.00am on Sunday morning, ride a bit, stop for vegan pies and cakes at the cafe, then ride a bit more, while several other people miss out by making excuses about how they will join us when they get fitter.

We're trying to get new people involved, so whatever your fitness or riding ability, we can adapt the ride to suit.
If you just want to do the first or second half or want to avoid the steep climbs, we can work something out.

Right then - we're still on for this.

Just a bit of encouragement to anyone who fancies giving it a go....Malvern is ideal for all levels. There are always easy options around the technical bit, our pace is always sedate and we always stop ALOT!

Don't worry about not being 'good enough' 'fit enough' or a complete newbie. I can guarantee it'll be a laugh, there'll be vegan cake at the cafe in the hills and we don't bite (much).

Oh, and for the decent (by that I mean slightly nutty  ) riders....I'm sure we can pull the occasional techy bit out for you as demonstrated by...

Ok, I wont.

But can't come along anyway as it's my son's 18th.
Would it be possible to have a few less piccies of MTBers showing off, and a few more piccies of the cake, please?

I kind of like the riding pics, wouldn't really call it showing off

I like the one of BGW, he looks like he's closed his eyes (sure he's just looking down at the front tyre really)

Here's one of the views:

I'm kind of looking foward to riding my nitrous again, I bet it'll feel quite 'twitchy' compared to my iron horse.

Uh huh....although, on the other hand, it'll prolly iron out all the descents compared to the Trek!

I can't come this weekend, but the next time I hope I can. My brother lives in Worcester.

It's about 2 1/2 hrs for me so I could stay.

Hey, that would be really great :D

We'll post up the August ride sooner rather than later so we can try and arrange the best date for everyone.

The V3C meeting is at 12.00, so we aim to get there soon after that.

Yeah, as BGW says - around 12 ish - or maybe 12:30.

If it's raining, the nice guys in the Cafe often let the V3C group use the Octagon room upstairs. It's worth letting them know that you are looking for the 'vegan meet' and they'll send you in the right direction :)
