semi-embarassing question re. yoga

Postby puppydog » Fri Feb 08, 2008 1:46 pm

i know this sounds like i'm just messing around but it's a serious question

i just started doing yoga in the AM, this is my first real attempt at doing yoga.

is there a proper attire for guys? my balls keep getting twisted up in my legs. Like, in a bad way.

I'm wearing loose pants, i thought loose clothes were the norm.

I wore yoga shorts when I practiced. I didn't have any issues. Are you wearing boxers? If so wear briefs.

You have it easy if a bit of tangling is all you have to worry about...

He's not so much resting the bar on them as smashing them into the bar. One always has to remember to tuck things away prior to starting the lift.

I think I'm probably the most qualified to talk about this. It's definately a problem that will never be resolved. Breasts and balls get in the way when doing Yoga asanas. I've crushed mine when doing this move before http://limbermen.com/Ritchie/Rc%20-%20b ... 0twist.jpg When I'm doing in a show it's difficult to stop.

Aye!
It's so difficult pinning your whole self, face down on the floor with things in the way (same problem when i get my xray chest shots agk).

But THAT photo bothers me more than THESE.

I am not a yoga practitioner, but I've had similar problems with swimming trunks (when they are wet and stick to you). My solution was to wear a speedo underneath my shorts - problem solved. Now, a speedo and yoga may not mix so well, but you may want to try a pair of spandex/biker shorts underneath your yoga shorts.

lol, I hate seeing guys wearing ONLY speedos when practicing bikram. Okay, I get it; it's comfortable, but goddamn!

Anyway, luckily I've never had this problem of getting things squished; I was gifted with small bewbs. :)

I do a bit of yoga before cycling sometimes. I find that my lycra underclothes are perfect for yoga. Baggy stuff just doesnt work for me.
