it's half past two in the morning but i uploaded aprox 400 photos onto my website's gallery. feel free to look around and make fun of me. and yes, the nature is very beautiful, but if you're looking for a proper vacation and ski-centre i'd recommend steering clear of this, ESPECIALLY of montenegro (lazy morons have only one slope tracked :x )

SNOW Update

Postby kristen » Sat Jan 13, 2007 12:31 am

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year!
A friend of mine just got back from a great 2 weeks riding in Japan. 12 metres of snow (and the locals were complaining as it was a bad season for them!)...Oh for a season that bad! I have to go the USA for work in 2 weeks so I am going to try and snaffle a few days at Big Bear or Mammoth...Let you guys know how it goes. Last time I rode there I broke my coccix...flew home sittin on a rubber ring. Everyone on the' plane thought I had piles.
It's 38 degrees celcius here in Oz right now. HOT HOT HOT. No waves in past week but it looks like there is a swell coming in a day or two. We are on Stage 4 water restrictions because of the drought now. no watering gardens, lawns, plants - No filling pools or spas, no washing cars, boats...everything is dying. Cattle and sheep are being shot as there is not enough food for them: GO VEGAN YOU WANKERS! Sad :-( We are all learning ingenious ways for grey water use and recycling. It's a good thing on that level.
anyway...HAPPY 2007 and all the best to everyone.

I organise the annual Veggie Snow trip to the Alps where all the food is vegan in the chalets for our group - even the cake. And we give all the group leader discounts to good veggie and animal causes - so they benefit without you having to pay any extra for your hol.

This year it's 15th March in La Plagne 1800, part of one of the biggest linked piste areas in the world, with more off-piste than anywhere else apparently.

Quite a few of the people who go are snow boarders.

Come and join us - we've just extended to a 3rd chalet and have a couple of spaces left!

Details at:
http://www.veggiesnow.org/events/523.html

The website is also full of places that are good for vegans on the slopes, and please do tell us your fav places so we can add them in. We particularly need more in other countries apart from France where our knowledge is best.

I just got back from a snowboarding trip to Austria, unfortunately it hadn't snowed for 5 days, and has started to snow since we left... it was about 16 degrees during the day, and there was an avalanche that some people might have been under.

So I glad to be alive and the alps were beautiful! Eating was a little hard, but there were options. Even most of the salads had meat or cheese in them.

join us on a veggie snow trip next time benzilla and you'll get yummy vegan food! We pick high altitude resorts that tend to have snow all season long.

If you want to be on the email list for next year's trip send me a private message.

I went snowboarding(converted from skiing) for the first time a few years ago but haven't been back since. I'm hoping to go on Sophie's snow trip in 2009 and have snowboarding lessons again.

it's likely to be a last minute cheap coach trip this year and not nec exclusively vegan (won't be whole chalet full perhaps), but will be when snow is great. Hopefully January.

Ask to be on my email list by pm if interested. Lucy - you're already on it.
