Gay vegans?

I know a few gay vegans, and plenty of bi vegans.

But then I see sexuality as a scale upon which we move from hetero-gay throughout our lives, I see it as fluid. I fall in love with people not genders.

I've thought that there didn't seem to be many gay guys on VF before, but I suppose the board is more sport/fitness than lifestyle orientated so perhaps the topic doesn't often come up.

VBB has a "relationships and dating" sub-forum or something along those lines. I guess you get to know people's preferences through participation in that. More so than you would in the running sub-forum on VF for example

Well I just thought it would make an interesting discussion really, from how I closed the post with that I know a few straight guys that people assume are gay because they're vegan.

Mainly, because it's a strange assumption when there really isn't that many vegans who're actually gay.

I've only posted on two vegan forums, the first I got banned because i'm apparently not vegan, and this one - I'm not entirely sure what VBB is but i'll have a look.

several gay members on this forum and a few couples as well - but aye, we havent really had threads and discussions where these things have been outed much...

it would be interesting to see if there are any statistics about if veganism is more common among gay population than in society as a whole, but i would bet there isnt much difference.

Personally i've never heard anyone saying or assuming that i am gay because of my veganism... maybe just havent noticed?

heh - i would have thought *everyone* were queer before becoming vegan!!

Even if someone is born to vegan parents, eventually they must make the choice to be vegan, they don't do that over homosexuality. ;)

good point Dave. after reading over my comment I feel like an idiot haha. Although... sexual orientation can be a choice for some people. There are people who realize they are gay from the get go while others may take awhile. There are also those who just like sexing it up with both men and women but don't get emotionally involved with the same sex (so purely physical). I think sexuality can be both inherent and a choice depending on the person.

To answer the original question: I identify as queer. And I know a couple other queer vegans, but not ones that are physically adctive.

There's at least three lesbians who post on here, and I know possibly ten people who are wholly or mostly vegan who identify as gay, plus dozens more who are mostly straight but have been known to have same sex liasons, even if they don't identify as 'bi'.
