Pushup Challenge

Postby baldy » Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:20 am

This is a very simple Challenge. How many pushups can you do in one set?
Pushups need to be done with good form, going all the way down to the floor.
Show boating with clap/knuckle/2 finger/one arm pushups is fine, but wont get you any higher in the table.

If you do not trust yourself place a tennis ball under your chest and touch it every time you go down.
At the next meet up you maybe asked to prove your pushup prowess, so be willing to accept any challenge.

For ultimate proof and have people critique your form make a video

Not many! But this is something I am aiming to improve, very soon. I just did two *proper* ones, I can do getting on for ten but they're not "good form".
So pls put me bottom of the table with two and I'm aiming for ten *PROPER ONES* in a few weeks time.

Rule check:
Does my set finish when I pause, still in the press up position (eg at the top, arms extended) or when I drop my knees, chest etc to the floor in exhaustion?

I'll have a go at this tonight, I'm at work and don't wanna get sweaty in case a client comes in!

Hmmm I would say pause is fine but if you come out of pushup position then its over.
So if anything other than your feet ,hands or nose touch the floor its over..

Papaya, I am expecting a big number from you. Set me a challenge!

Should I presume that's hands at shoulder length?
And slowly, as the quicker you do them the more momentum you can rely on, and the less strength you need???

Just did 44.

Only a cyclist, but I was the press-up king, when I did karate, many years ago.
I eat to nourish my compassion, not my greed

I'm the man they couldn't kill ! I cannot be destroyed with conventional weapons !

And probably the former fastest British Vegan 10, 25 and 50 mile TT rider. Probably.
