Just wondering what everyone elses thoughts were on the Rampage/Griffin fight.
Personally I thought it was a draw, with page winning 3rounds and forrest 2, but the second 10-8, making it 47-47
(I do like Forrest btw Im not a complete Quinton nuthugger :p )
I did think that the last 3 rounds were very close tho

yeah very close, i think he still deserved the win. Better control, more aggression, good submission attempt, loads of damaging kicks and dominated the second round.

Good fight though! Pace was up all the way through. Rampage just doesnt have enough tricks in the bag to stay as a champ IMO. his blows are brutal though!

i think forrest fought a perfect fight and i had the rounds scored as:

1- rampage
2- griffin
3- rampage
4- griffin
5- griffin

(maybe i have 3 & 4 reversed, but rampage sort of dropped griffin at the very end of one of those rounds....) There were certainly some close rounds.

i guess 10-8 in the second is appropriate also, although forrest didn't do much with his position.

was a good fight though and had the feeling that at any moment rampage could knock anybody else with a punch, but agree with JP, he needs more in his arsenal. Forrest is pretty well-rounded, works very hard, i think he could be there for a while as champ, or... lose to the winner of Evans/Lidell.

i thought forrest won, but imo, should have been much closer than what the judges said. 49-46? much closer than that.

i wouldnt have been surprised if it went either way. forrest pushed the pace of the fight and was the aggressor for the most part, but rampage did more damage. i guess depends on what's important to the judge scoring the bout. aggressiveness/activity vs damage done

apparently 2 judges had first round 10-9 which to me is a surprise.... 'page rocked forrest, which to me is more significant than forrest landing a few extra leg kicks...

This was how I thought it was
Round1 10-9 Jackson
Round2 8-10 Griffin (Griffin didnt do much, but Rampage did nothing D: )
Round3 10 -9 Jackson (very close)
Round4 10.9 Jackson (very close again)
Round5 9-10 Griffin
Guess it depends whos watching it tho

Dana looks like hes hinting at a rematch for them, personally I think Chuck will get the next shot after he disposes of Evans (Ill be amazed if Evans wins). I think thats a fight Forrest could win too, we all saw how powerful his leg kicks were and how Jardine used them to great effect against Chuck.

i think this is given. Since its all about the money rather than any rankings system, rematches like this will sell tons. The fighters know it as well, its a well paid day to headline again.

i don't see how people say it rampage. yeah he dropped forrest in the first round and then didn't do anything. forrest won that round for sure. just getting knocked down isn't enough to lose a round. then he controlled the fight and kept rampage from doing anything really. yeah forrest got cut but he gets cut in all of his fights. rampage really didn't land very many punches and did nothing else. even when forrest was on his back he was working. i really doubted forrest but he had the best game plan to beat rampage and did a wonderful job executing it.

I scored Forrest winning that fight. He was the aggressor, pushed the pace, shut Quinton down with leg kicks. When Forrest took Rampage down, he controlled him at will. Jackson did nothing to defend on the ground. I think Rampage rocked Griffin a few times, and had him close to a KO, but overall I think Forrest was a much better fighter in that fight. Initially, I scored it 3-2 in Rampage's favor, but after thinking it over, I have to agree with the Forrest winning, but it was much closer than the judge's cards. Maybe I will watch it again when I'm a little more awake and see what I think.
