England is the birth place of metal!

It is not so great for metal these days and especially not death metal, however bands like playing here because we appreciate them so much! Basically you get a great crowd if you play here! :)

I guess it will be difficult to talk of metal story without talking of England.
In the other hand, sadly, I think we can easily forget France

I've heard a few good French metal bands. The one that is on the Rock Band game isn't all that bad and they even sing in French too.

I digged this thread up :)

I started listening to bands like Rotting Christ, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Morbid Angel and Terrorizer when I was in 5th grade mostly because it sounded so cool and different than other music, not knowing anything about the lyrics'n stuff.
When I went to 7th grade, I started to play in a punk band but still listening to Black/Death. When I went to 9th grade Punk moved aside and I discovered new bands like Cradle Of Filth, Dark Throne, Mayhem, etc. This was in 1996-1997. I started to play in symphonic "Black Metal" band and that lasted few years and ended in disagreements. After that I had one project onto which I was a vocalist in, but we managed to lose our rehearsal place and that was that. After the turn of the millenium I started to listen more and more Hardcore and now I listen to pretty much everything.
But I have seasons when I listen to mostly BM & Crust and sometimes mostly Hardcore.
Here's some BM/DM I enjoy

IMPIETY (SGP)
BLASPHEMY (CAN)
ARCHGOAT (FIN)
NUNSLAUGHTER (USA)
MAVETH (FIN) two of my friends play in this one :)
MUTIILATION (FRA)
KATHARSIS (GER)
WATAIN (SWE)
