why do you do so few squat reps?
Next time, I'll spend the money on drugs instead.

Its a 5x5 routine? So I stick to 5x5 working set.

So I do 5x0kg warm up, then a 5x40kg warmup.
Then 5x5 at the weight Im on at the moment. Every session Ill up the weight by 2.5kg.

Slowly slowly catch the tofu.

Here is the training program I am following.

Solid training Baldy.
I think at some point you'll probably have to reduce the frequency of doing 5x5 ful body workouts, but as long as you can improve, keep it up!

On Aikido/Martial Arts:
I have yet to meet a good Aikido teacher. I always found it to be very theoretical and unrealistic in a real "street" combat situation. But i do believe which art you choose is not important, all can be effective, they have to suit you AND you need a good teacher.
Moreover, in a real situation what counts is to keep your cool. So far i have always avoided to hurt someone or being hurt by avoiding the fight altogether :D
Muay Thai is still my favourite of the traditional styles though.

5x5 seems to be working for me, Im hoping to keep it up until I can squat 100kg or there abouts. Will see what happens, I do not have any DOM and feel generally good about it. Not getting as much sleep as I would like though.

I suppose I have been lucky in that I have had 4 or 5 different people train me in Aikido so get a very varied experience of it. It is a style of Martial Art that suits me down to the ground. Its really appealing seeing older people still doing aikido and doing it well, not having to rely on being in amazing physical shape.
