On Aikido/Martial Arts:
I have yet to meet a good Aikido teacher. I always found it to be very theoretical and unrealistic in a real "street" combat situation. But i do believe which art you choose is not important, all can be effective, they have to suit you AND you need a good teacher.
Moreover, in a real situation what counts is to keep your cool. So far i have always avoided to hurt someone or being hurt by avoiding the fight altogether
Muay Thai is still my favourite of the traditional styles though.
