Interesting recommendations here. I'll have to check out some of those bands you guys mentioned.

I've been crazy busy lately, but I am trying to set time to audition musicians for my new project, an all vegan speedcore/thrash/grind band. I found a suitable bassist. I'll play lead/rhythm guitar. I wish Arawn lived close enough to drum for us, I really need a vegan metal drummer. I also need a singer/lyricist. I want to dedicate this band to the issues I really care about, animal rights and ecology. If you know suitable musicians in the greater Toronto area, hook me up!

Drummers are always the most difficult to find :s

I'm looking for a drummer too. Nightmare to find and when you do they are usually in about a million other bands and can never practice.

I have never understand people who are in more than 2 projects. You can't really invest yourself if you're into several bands.

http://www.obsceneextreme.cz/en/view.ph ... rom-a-to-z

Grindcore festival in Czech republic. This year they are headlined by Macabre and Extreme Noise Terror. Check out the bottom of their info page -

"Since first year we have just vegan and vegetarian food on OEF and we'll continue in this blood free tradition forever. Do you ask why? I'm long-time vegan myself and this life style is something very important for me and I really can't support the bloody business even on festival that I organize...animals can't thank you but I can can and I do : thanx to all people that support this idea and will be vegans and vegetarians even for this one weekend, enjoy our food and support animal rights..."

I wish I could make it this year. It looks like a blast.

I thought I'd drop a plug here to an awesome London band called 12 Ton Method. Half of them are vegan.

I'm trying to resurrect my old vegan metal and hardcore website and forum. I launched it originally several years ago, but because I was juggling school and a job, I didn't have time to promote it properly and to keep up with script kiddies who were destroying the forums (do those guys ever sleep?).

This forum gave me a little hope again, with all the postings on metal and hardcore. We have quite a collection of metalheads and hardcore kids here.

So if you have tofu on your plate and metal in your veins, drop by my website and drop a line on the forums -

www.veggielante.com

I'm planning to add interviews with bands, show reviews, and other content on the website. And I do want to add veganfitness to the links page this week, because it was a large part of my inspiration to bring back my old site.

I went to this fest last year and am going again this year. A lot of fun, great bands and it's bloody cheap! (once you get there)

In melodic Death metal, I prefer Amon Amarth, God Dethroned.

Otherwise, I was in a french summer fest las week and I discovered Iced Earth (I think I heard before ancient albums with old vocalist and it makes me nothing) and it's really great. The vocalist with his "rocky" voice (like grave digger in a way) and then aigue (like Judas) kills everything.

But the best bands was in the thrash categorie with Testament and Death Angel.

I saw Iced Earth earlier this year supporting Heaven & Hell (Sabbath), They were really good, melodic and heavy. Old school metal.
