I had a go last weekend. Tried it standing first, put it about 9 metres or so. Then tried a step and throw, didn't feel right but it went about 11 metres.
Then tried the full on glide technique, powering out, putting everything into ti.
Went about 11 metres
I know what I was doing wrong though. When pressing the shot against my neck initially I was letting the elbow drop so the forearm was beneath the shot. When you go to throw this means the elbow is out of alignment and you lose all the power. When you try to glide it means the shot tries to come away from the neck and it all goes wrong.
Itching for another try, hopefully this time with video.
