week 1:
78kg
cumbria & north wales. hardly got out on the bike, preferring food and beer instead. planned a nice hilly 60km loop (barrow coast road - askam - kirkby moor), cut short after flatting twice in horizontal rain. 30km
wales was also a bust, cottage was 3km from the road down a boggy track, including a wade through a stream. my kingdom for an MTB. did plenty of forest walks instead.
thurs/fri
back at work. 3 punctures. conclusion: conti attack/force are not winter tyres
50km
saturday:
went out for 10 easy laps of regent's park. gusty headwind around north/east side.
cut short after 7, but was going fairly well. felt a bit rusty, niggling soreness in right ankle, but held 30-35kmh with a much faster chap, dropping the rest of our little chain gang
sunday will be a rest day, with a bit of swiss ball.
