I'm planning a long weekend away in Cradle Mountain-Tasmania. I will probably be flying into Burnie or Devonport and I am wondering is there anywhere where I can get a decent vegan meal. By decent I mean not a bowl of vegetables or a plain salad.
I really don't want to spend the whole weekend preparing my all of my meals.
I've looked at all the normal websites and there appears to be only options in Hobart and Launceston which are on the other side.

i went there before i became vegan.. sorry
most places can do a risotto of some description it can't be that hard
what i do when i hit a small town and i know i'll have limited options is during the afternoon go in and speak to the staff at each of them and see if they can do anything then pick the one that was the most accomodating/had the best options
or - and this is what i insist on when i travel - stay somewhere that has cooking facilities (oh i am such a camper! lol)
on a side note, cradle mountain / lake st. claire is AWESOME. i hope you find some nice food and have a ball - i really want to go back there sometime!

my mate is a vege and a chef..once he told me a story about how he stopped the other chefs from making the meal 'non vegan' when it was requested vegan by a customer...
