km per year

i was just wondering how many KMs per year you make and if it training or commuting,..

last year from 2006/05 to 2007/05 i did 4400 kilometres on bike, 4000 commuting and 400 for training,...

i used to log every mile i did but i gave all that up a couple of years ago

about 13,000km, though i think it'll be less this year - haven't ridden at the weekend since about january. i don't know if all those km's on the trainer in my kitchen count?

those should count double! Arrgh, I hate the trainer. but winter will be here soon (down here) so I will have to face it again.

I am generally in the 12-13k range - mostly training as my commuting is max 50km/wk.

i do a lot of cummuting, but i dont dawdle around i ride the same tempo i do training and work longer routes into my commute, i do around 5000+ miles a year so that must be about 1000+ km. i do everything in miles, no nasty km for me!

lol oops =P ahh well, no harm in 'rounding it up' lol, nah i've only been cycling 9 months and i've done nearlly 5000 miles, i plan on doubling that for next year though when have a bit more time and strength to actually get that milage under my belt.

that's good going, esp. the off road miles. i'd love to ride off road more, but down here the landowners have got it all sewn up. we need some of your allemansrätten

"allemansrätten"<- I'll admit I don't know what that is but here in the US there's a group called IMBA which stands for INTERNATIONAL Mountain Biking Association. I assume they have something on the other side of the Atlantic given their name. They work hard to get trails open to mountain bikers and they teach people how to maintain trails among other things...

And to stay on topic: I don't measure my annual miles/km. I'll say that I wish it were more.

Mostly on the road, next most at the velodrome, then a bit offroad.

Allemansrätt is a Swedish term, which means the right of public access in english. This means that no matter who owns land you still have the right to be there as long as you don't disturb or destroy. You can for example camp everywhere, and take your MTB almost everywhere as well (with some restrictions). This is an old tradition in Sweden, and it means that being outdoors is never a problem wherever you are and no matter who happens to own the land you're at.
