Video: my World Championship Savate fight

Postby Rawfighter » Tue Oct 03, 2006 12:14 pm

Because some people were asking to see it, I have posted my best World Championship Savate fight on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpOS4p5aBIc

Watch me get beat by the World Number 1 (no shame in that). I give him a run for his money alright.

(Note for other martial artists, Savate rules mean boots and gloves make contact only, no shins, knees or elbows; no front snap kick; kicks must be chambered and delivered at full extension, no bent leg kicks. This bout follows 'assaut' rules - controlled contact, with no force permitted)

Cheers James.

I'll have a look at it tonight. Not familiar with Savate so it'll be an education.

Wow, I'm quite impressed! Very interesting style. It seems to be a lot about using kicks, but with such long legs, who wouldn't!
Very nice!
How did you work on your flexibility, specially for the turning/side kicks? Any tips?

Want to explain that one? On a vegan message board it seems very poor taste to lend credance to a sport that pitches animals it battle for human fun. :-)

Usually we're compared with ballerinas.

In any case, it's leg strength that wins every time.

i have only seen kangaroos fighting in nature (i mean in documentaries) and i got the same kind of impression soniczip did - take that as compliment because those mofos have some serious leg power :D

Good video mate, cheers for sharing it.
