A hardcore band from the 80s. They were incredible. If you ever have the chance to sing along with older hardcore dudes(30 something instead of in the teens) i highly suggest it.

Old school hardcore dancing is far better than new school too. And I <3 circle pits.

Only scary thing that happened is some girl stage dove to far and landed face first in the circle pit. She was totally unconcious but Civ told us later she wasn't dead.

I think we can add in some cardio for today's log as well after that pit. HOLY CRAP!!

Nice bench Pelican Andrew - 230lbs a bloody good number! Now your want to be getting your squat and deadlifts into proportion - something like 300lbs for the squat and 400lbs for the deadlift :D

I bet next time with the squat i'll be able to hit 260 easy. I took it easy last time at 240x2.

Deadlifts, yea i really need to work on that.

My goal by the beginning of next summer is the o so magical 300/400/500 split(bench/squat/deadlift).

Forgot to post for yesterday because i saw La Quiete(amazzzzingggggg)

Dead lifts- I did these a bit too heavy i think, even if i am going for pure strength.

1x3@205
1x2@210
1x1@225

Shrugs

5x5@205

Flips- Used my punching bag which is aprox- 50 lbs

2x12@~50

I feel kinda tight because of the shrugs but my back is good from the dead lifts. It was a little tight last week the next day.

Took a few days off cause my shoulder hurt pretty bad.

Front squats

5x5@185

Back Squats

1x5@225
1x5@230
1x5@235

My shoulder started to hurt really really really badly after that last set so i stopped. I think i slept on it funny after i deadlifted and it's just been stupidly tight all weekend. I didn't feel any pain at all in it until after i went to bed on wednesday. Really dumb.

Ok so i guess i really hurt my shoulder that squat session so i just got back today.

Dont laugh i was weak as hell.

Bench

1x5@185
1x3@200(almost died thankfully a guy saved me)
1x3@190
1x3@185

Ok that sucked. I most certainly should've stuck with 5x5 @ 185 but there were girls present and my sex drive always kicks in and makes me do stupid crap. Fucking hormones. If my girlfriend didn't live 3 hours away that wouldn't be an issue. I'm taking a 19 hour bus ride to see her this weekend.

I know i'm crazy.

Okedoke side rows

1x12@45
1x10@50

Felt good, figured i'd keep it light after my benching episode. I'm gonna be sore as hell tommorow.

Dips!!!! I haven't done this for a year and i was uber pumped.

1x5
1x3
1x3

I obviously have lots of work to do on my dips.

Curls-

1x12@60
1x10@50
1x8@50

Tommorow i'm going to squat/front squat and maybe do some lower back rows. The ones with the machine. I'm not going to be doing a crazy non-disco session until next tuesday when my schools gym reopens. Closed for labor day weekend.

That day will be cleans/deadlifts/flips/snatches.

I had a quick question about what you all think i should start out on with cleans/jerks and snatches. I've done flips before so that's not a prob.

Advice is always welcome!!!

ps. Not that this is relevant, but i figured i'd just say i'd never cheat on my girlfriend for anyone. Even Natalie Portman(bald or with hair)

Not sure about your clean/jerk/snatch question. Hopefully someone else will have the answer.

Well, there are a few kids at my school who have been doing them through sports for awhile. I just dont wanna seem like I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, even if I don't.

Ok here goes nothing...

Bent rows

1x10@95. Very easy so i upped it
1x5@120
2x5@115

Stiff legged dead lifts

1x5@185(easy again)
4x5@200.

Damn those felt really good. I used a bench set so i was actually lifting from about 1.5 feet off the ground. I'm probably going to max out on my bench day see if i can get a new PB for the full range later this week. My schools rubber weights for OL are all in kilos so i gotta get used to that first.

Ok more lifting

Flips

3x10@45

Seated Rows

1x10@110
1x8@120
1x6@130

Tommorow is gonna be squats, good mornings, lunges. I feel kick ass.

And now... to shower with my blender.

I'll let you know when it's in kg.

Man i wish those #s were in kg. I'd be huge!

The title has come about because my blender doesn't fit in the tiny sink in my bathroom, so I just jump in the shower with it.

Horrible lactic acid burn today. Tommorow is gonna be off thanks to my stupidity.

Back squats

1x10@200(easy as hell)
1x5@210
1x5@220
1x5@225

I've always prefered doing ladders so I shape my workouts around that

Front Squats

3x5@165

Didn't feel too hot after that so I left. Didn't know that gatorade would make me feel worse, so i drank some and almost threw up when i showered.

Gonna go eat lots of brocolli and rice to take care of my tummy/acid burn.

Crap lift today. I was still really tired from my wack lactic acid issue i had yesterday. I also was only able to get a couple hundred calories in my before my workout. No lunch today. I may not be able to lift on tuesdays and thursdays.

2x5@185
1x3@185

Tried the 5x5 format but god damn i felt so tired.

Standing strict push press

3x6 @ 95

I went to do 2 dips but i was just so damn tired i couldn't do anything. Only good thing was that i had a crapload of watermelon for dinner.

Ok, now that my lactic acid/calorie intake issues are taken care of(i'm been eating pita and hummus like it's going out of style at lunch) i actually had a good lift today.

Deadlifts- IN KILOS!!!!!

1x5@96kg
1x5@116kg

I was going to max out but my lower back felt kinda weak. I didn't use my belt on the rest of the workout just to get a better feeling down there.

Back into pounds, sorry my euro friends.

Bent Row(barbel rows)

1x8@85
1x8@95
3x5@105

Seated row(with the cable pulley thing)

1x8@130
1x8@140
1x5@150

God damn that last one was tough

Curl

1x8@30
2x8@25

IRON CROSS!!!!

First time attempting this ever so dont laugh too hard.

3x 10 seconds @ 20 lbs.

Not too shabby for my first time. Tommorow i'm going to do squats, keep it pretty light because i'm working a concert all day, sunday will be bench/dips/etc and hopefully on monday i'll do some clean/jerks.

Met some cool frat boys(they do exist on occasion) who are pretty big time weight lifters. One is a powerlifter, the other is pretty disco, but he plays trombone so he's cool in my book. The actually want me in their fraternity, even after i told them i was vegan. I'm at least going to check it out. Everything seems way different at this college than others. Fraternities around here seem to do wayyyyyy more service work than i've ever heard of, and i love that.

And chalk is the stupidist damn thing ever. It helps your grip, but my hands just get dry and cracked later on anyway. Ughh.

Time to shower and stuff my face!!!!
