Introducing Myself

Postby Frostfire » Sat Jan 24, 2004 1:06 pm

Okay, so it is a bit ego-centric, but I'm new here so I thought I would post a bit about myself.

I'm a 24 year old female (grrlz rule!), vegan for ~7 years now. I'm 130 lbs (don't know the kg or stones for that one. . .) and 5'7" tall. I'm trying to bulk up and gain some strength because I've always just kept my weight stable, but now I want to change. I used to run track and cross country for my college, but stopped due to injuries :( (I did the heptathlon and long jump mostly). I always wanted to be a marathoner, but if I even did half that, my knees would probably crumble into a fine powder. :) I've been interested in athletics all my life, althought I don't have much talent for any of it, just heart!

I LOVE working out. I'm such an addict. I lift a couple times a week, do some cardio, yoga and I'm a Korean Martial Artist (Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido and Kuk Sool Won combination -- anyone else out there that does these?). I love being vegan, but have had a hard time relating to my gym buddies around here so I'm glad to have this outlet for vegan fitness! I always thought I was so alone in this category, but you have proved me wrong! I'm aspiring to oneday be in muscle competitions, but I don't know that much about them and don't know if I can commit to something like that yet, or if I have it in my genetic make-up to do it! We'll see what comes of all this, I hope to learn more about it here.

So, now you know who I am, who are all of you?

Hi Crystal and welcome to the board! Hope you'll like it ;)

There are quite a few martial artists on the board, though the Cardio, endurance etc section where MA should go as well has been fairly quiet so far. Lets see how it goes :)

Welcome again!

Hi Crystal,

there are a few bodybuilding competitors on the board who I'm sure could give you some great advice on training, diet etc. If you're considering competing at some point, maybe you'd like an early taste of being in the limelight & put yourself up on the WIP section of the Vegan Bodybuilding site (you'd be only the second female up there :!: ) have a look at http://www.veganbodybuilding.org/workinprogress.htm & if your interested mail me (details in my profile or on the VBB site) & I'll send you details.
Oh yea & welcome to the board too :)
