New year, new log.. 8)

Last year was not great (rather abysmal), but I did complete a half marathon and a 30k terrain race even if I didn't get to the starting line of my main goal of completing a marathon. The logging of my training was unfortunately even worse than my actual training, I made two post in my log last year  http://www.veganfitness.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17024

Goals for this year is to set PBs on HM and the 30k race (Lidingöloppet in september). I have two HMs planned: Göteborgsvarvet in may and Broloppet in june.

Since I haven't trained very much the last two months or so, I plan to increase distances slowly over January and February doing just regular distance runs and LSDs 3times a week and during mars and April start adding in more tempo runs and perhaps some more speedwork leading up till the HM in may...

So Today: First run of the year, 3.9k, 23,50min. So short and slow as shit but it felt great to be out running again, bit stiff in my right back thigh the first km or so, but it loosened up pretty quickly It's on!! :D

Today 100122: 5,25km, 30,07min, So still about the same pace as last couple of runs, but less fatigue in my legs this time. :) Planing on doing a 10k on Sunday and see how it feels. Last year I think I increased my millage a bit to fast and my knee ached for a while scaring me out of doing the marathon, don't wanna do that again so I'm a bit scarred of upping the distance even if 5ks feels silly-short.. :S

Thanks, it does feel great! :D

Today 100127: 5km, 32:40min.. Literally a blizzard out there, snowing, strong winds, and quite a lot of the run was unplowed with 10-15cm of untouched snow.. it was fun! :D

Thanks Hakko, I think so too, it feels like I'm on track! and if not than I have at least rediscovered how f-ing fun and nice it feels to run!

today 100129: 9km, 56:20min still quite a bit of snow on the ground but no wind today. Run felt ok, picked up the pace on the second half..

100131: 10k run, 1:02:55, more snow today, easy slow run though, enjoyed it, marginally faster the second half :D

Thought I'd try to follow my distances a bit, to clearer see progress:

January: 52,65km
Week 4: 24km

100209: 9km, 57:01min (29min at 4.5km), slippery snow and I felt tired most of the run, no real energy...

Good you've returned to running/logging :)

You should still consider the marathon this year... sign up for one in autumn, and once your entry has been accepted, you are fully committed regardless of how ready you feel! I think that's pretty much what I did, as I certainly didn't feel like I was ready to do one.

Good luck with the HM training!
