Happy New Year everyone!!! With the new year, a new log. My resolutions for the new year are: Sports-wise: * Bench 55k * Deadlift 115k * Squat 60k * Resume running once a week minimum * Swim 500 lengths non-stop one day in the pool * Do more yoga and stretching Diet-wise: * Start sprouting my own seeds to eat on a daily basis * Start juicing more esp. kale and other vegetables that are healthy but which i dont like cooking * Exploit my new blender (which I will be buying with Xmas money from ethical juicers) * Eat tempeh most of the time rather than tofu * Be mostly raw * Stop making weekends such a eatathon i.e. be less greedy Health * Continue my rest day(s) on weekends * Possibly look into local masseur(se) as Zoe (masseuse who did a wonderful massage for me in M'er) said for high activity life-styles it is very important * Look into getting an allotment Log legend (*) means organic (most of the time I am 100% organic) RP = red pepper (the abbreviations I believe are pretty self-explanatory) In my workout I will write e.g. "3x10x15/17.5/17.5-15k" this means 3 sets of 10 reps, the first set was 15k, 2nd set 17.5k and the third set was a dropset "dbl" means dumbbell |

Hi Great idea starting a new log for 2006 - might have to do that myself! I always enjoy reading about your eating and exercise. Can I ask why you are endeavouring to eat more tempeh and less tofu? I tried some tempeh the other day and found it not so nice, how do you like to prepare it? Way to go on aspiring to do more sprouting, I've just recently been convicted to do that myself! Tell us how you go and what you end up sprouting - I'll try to do the same! thanks |

hi suirfchic! Thanks for reading my log! IN answer to your questions, I prefer to eat tempeh because it is usually less processed and its a raw food as it is made by fermentation ratehr than cooking. My nutritional therapist praises tempeh over tofu - also I like tofu too much so tepeh lasts longer so reduced my food budget! I like smoked tempeh best, I usually eat it raw with salad dressing in a salad but sometimes i fry it until golden and crispy (thats really really a v v v rare treat usually when I haev company!) I plan to start sprouting quinoa, broccoli, alfalfa, chickpeas, mung beans, aduki beans and maybe others. I am terrible at sprouting things usually through neglect so I am considering investing in the ethical juicers automatic sprouter from part of my xmas money.... problem is there is also a juicer and a blender that i wish to buy and i didnt get that much xmas money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Good luck with your goals! So you are going for the NewGena blender then? I'm eyeing the Vitalmax Juicer that Ethical Juicers sell, I think it's a good buy. |
