Mar. 6:

3 rounds of:
20 DB step-ups (30lb DB)
20 DB kettlebell swings (30lb DB)
30 single unders (with imaginary rope)

Time: 13:17.8...reeeeally slowed down toward the end.

I had originally planned on doing 5 rounds, but I felt very weak and a tad light-headed. My cat is sick and I was up most of the night keeping him company. I didn't have much of an appetite yesterday because I was so worried so I wasn't properly fueled either. Excuses, excuses.

He has a vet appointment in a couple of hours, hope he will be okay. He's my best friend in the whole world. That sounds super lame, but it's true.

looks like a good circuit sess. Nah that doesn't sound lame at all, I love my dogs loads too. Hope your cat is ok.

Thanks! Waiting on blood results to come back tomorrow. He's getting older, so I'm hoping that it's a manageable older kitty problem. I am suspicious it is his thyroid, but I guess I have no choice but to wait and find out.

thanks! The vet took blood today to test for all of the usual older kitty problems. She's going to phone me with the results tomorrow. If the blood work doesn't show anything then it's time for x-rays to look for cancers and the like. I'm hoping that's not the case. I just want to know what's wrong with my baby so we can work on getting him healthy again.

He's doing a little bit better today so I'm hoping I get more sleep. He's still being fussy (which I understand) so we'll see. I'd rather stay up and comfort him if it makes him feel better.

7 mile run on the schedule for tomorrow.

Kitty update: blood work didn't show anything but elevated liver enzymes. Took him in for follow-up x-rays, they didn't show anything. Next step is ultrasound and biopsy, but that's very expensive. I explained to the vet (as I was blubbering all over the office) that I'm not sure that it's financially feasible. Right now she put him on some antibiotics and special food that he adores and he goes back in a week to see what's up. I realize we're treating the symptom rather than the cause, trouble is we don't know what the cause is right now. Sigh.

Mar. 7:
7 mile run in 1:11 and change

I kind of bonked around 6 miles. I think that if I'm running over 6 miles I need to start eating something beforehand.

Mar. 8:

4 miles in 37:40....that is a pretty good pace for me (avg 9:25/mile).

Still not much sleep, but I don't feel that tired today. Kitty likes his special food a lot so I'm still hoping he will fatten up. He's sleeping a lot, but he had a pretty traumatic two days...back and forth to vet, being poked and proded and x-rayed, etc.

Mar. 9:

AMRAP in 20 minutes:
40 air squats
30 plank jacks
20 mountain climbers
10 burpees
1 min rest

Score: 3.5 rounds (just finished fourth round plank jacks at end of 20 min)

EDIT: Later in the afternoon I had a bit of spare time and excess energy. Rather than do housework (which I probably SHOULD have done) I elected for a 50 min. session on the elliptical.

Not sure where all of my energy is coming from the last two days, as I haven't slept well in quite awhile and my appetite has been really low. Meh. I'm just going to go with it.

Mar. 10:

Running buddy day. Today we did 6.2 miles in 1:19:44, which is over 4 minutes faster than last time so that's great.

Mar. 11:

10 rounds of:
10 plank jacks
10 jump squats
10 mountain climbers
10 incline push-ups

Took me right around 20 minutes, including a little rest after every second round. My push-up ROM was pretty pathetic, I need to start working on those more.

30 min. elliptical
lat pulldown (3x45x10)
DB hammer curls (3x20x10)

Mar. 12:

5.5 miles in 52:54. I held a pretty solid pace throughout, averaged 9:38/mile. Pretty pleased at where I am in my running right now. Goal is to run a half marathon distance (not a race, just a run on my own) by end of April.

Mar. 13:

AMRAP - 10 minutes:
10 pulse plyo jumps
8 side burpees
6 jump leg kickups
Score: 4.8 rounds (got about halfway through the 5th round of kickups)

Later on - 40 min. yoga...pretty mellow, mostly just stretching out.

Mar. 14:
8 miles in 1:22 and change. Tried to keep my pace at a comfy level. Paid a lot of attention to form.

Tomorrow is the day we find out if kitty is doing okay or if he needs to be put down. Stressful.

Mar. 15:

3 rounds for time:
10 dive bombers
5 burpees
20/20 squat leg lifts
5 burpees
10/10 side plank lifts
5 burpees
10/10 pistol squats (ROM sucks)
5 burpees

Score: 19:01

Kitty's vet appointment is moved until next Monday as he seems to be doing okay and I'd like a few extra days to try and fatten him up before he goes back and the vet makes a judgment call on what to do next.
