28th Feb

Squat: 40kg x10 60kg x10 70kg x3 80kg x3 90kg x1 100kg x1 110kg xf 70kg 2x10
OHP: 20kg x10 30kg x5 35kg 2x5

On the basis on my thighs don’t fit in my favourite skinny jeans anymore I think I should be able to squat more than I could in November but my lower back went to jelly and it felt like there was no chance of being able to support the weight. But 100kg felt easy. I guess my back still isn’t properly better and trying to max out before it is a bad idea

I meant to max out bench too but somehow forgot then started doing OHP and I can’t really bench well after it. I’ll do it next time but at least I know for sure there’s no way I can’t set a new PB for it

5th March

Weight: 66.5kg

Bench: 20kg x10 40kg x8 50kg x3 60kgx1 62.5kg x1 65kg x1 67.5kg x1 70kg x1 72.5kg x1 75kg xf
Pull down: 41kg 2x5 45.5kg x5

Bench PB by 12.5kg :D Might have a shot at 75kg if I go right for it, not sure if I'll bother

Bike isn't quite as fixed as I'd hoped so cycling is on hold until I'm not competely skint.

I'm almost certian I'm going to change program in the next two weeks-ish, depends on how long it takes for me to decided on one and I won't start it until I properly have time to get to the gym again. I know I've not 'completed' 5x5 but if my squats don't fail really soon I'll be amazed. I'm bored of it mostly. Bordum kills my motivation. I want different amounts of sets/reps and a bit more variety of exercise. A lighter day really wouldn't hurt either.

So close to the end of shitloads of uni work but still no time for the gym but starting to feel kind of guilty so instead pushups: 34, 29, 21, 19
About 1-2mins inbetween sets.

I think I'm going to switch to westside for skinny bastards, seems to be about as varied as you get and I think I've managed to more or less get my head round it.

I plan some pissing about in the gym to work out reasonable start weights for things I'm unsure of and a visit to the shiny new suana the gym got over the weekend then start it next week.

10th March
More of an expression of gym ADHD than a workout but logging for when I eventually manage to loose my paper version.
Leg Curls: 18kg x8 32kg x8 45kg x8 52kg x8 59kg x8
Incline bench: 20x10 40x5
Decline DB press: 12kg DBs x15 14kg DBs x15
DB side bend: 20kg x 10
Shrug: 40kg x 10 50kg x 10
Curl: 10kg x3 7kgx8 9kg x8
180 Lat Raise: 7kg x8

Then sauna. Nothing else seems to end my teenagery skin so I'm giving it a try

I felt really fucking ill afterwards for a few hours, now I’m totally fine. Twas a bit strange. But I have a better idea of where to start now with Westside and how to use the decline bench properly, I was being a bit vacant about it at first. The incline bench seems so steep it’s more or less OHP so I hope I’m just missing an adjustment pin thingy. I think what I thought was a 10kg DB for curls wasn’t really cause 9kg wasn’t proper hard

After a few hours in bed due to random illness, pushups: 17, 19, 15, 15, 21
1-ish min rest
That’s day 1, week 5 of 100 pushup. Didn’t expect to do it since I never got passed week 3. Maybe I’ll finally finish it after almost 2 years.

Meant to go to the gym but slept in. So pushups: 10, 10, 13, 13, 10, 10, 9, 28
Stricter on rest time so most were nearly dead on a minute but then I read properly and realised it should have been 45s. Since in theory I can do 100 pushups in 4 more sessions I'm going to stick to it but on the basis of when's sensible between main workouts rather than properly set days

13 March

Squat: 20kg x10 40kg x10 50kg x5 60kg x 570kg x5 60kg x 5 90kg x5
Reverse lunge: 20kg x12 40kg x6
Leg curl: 32kg x8 45kg x8 52kg 3x8

Took me over two hours to buy a pair of jeans which meant only half an hour in the gym. Shops all seem to think I'm a really odd size but then H&M seem to think everyone who wears skinny jeans has a 32 leg :? Anyways, not a full work out but only lunges really got cut out. I had a thought though- pushups on leg days and cycling on upper body days could be a good idea, or could be totally knackering, but I’ll give it a try

15th March

Bench: 20kg x15 40kg x8 50kg x5 60kg x5 62.5kg x5
Decline DB bench: 16kg x12 16kg x9
DB Row: 24kg 3x8
Shrugs: faffing around trying to work out a reasonable weight/if I'm doing it right
Curls: 9kg x8 9kg x6
cycling: 'rolling hills' 10mins

then sauna

My triceps were dying, I'm thinking lots of push ups might not be feasible, maybe just in between leg days

17th March
Box jump: 2x 21 inch 1x23 1x25.5 2x29.5
Reverse lunge with knee lift- 22kg x 10 32kg x 10 37kg 2x10
Romanian deadlift: 37kg 1xf
GHR: 3x8 (some cheating)
Side bend: 20kg 4x10

Manflu this morning so worked out at home since I don’t need anything too heavy. Back was having none of the deadlifting but I thought I’d check how it felt anyways.

After watching some Mexican wrestling I think people around my height still look a bit skinny around until about 77kg, about 82kg starts to look big. So I think my longer term goal will be somewhere 77-82kg. Realising I’m still only about half way makes me feel a bit daft about cutting but I'm justifying it as sensible to keep body fat a reasonable amount. Getting fat scares me so once I start bulking again I'll have the comfort of knowing I can gain a bit of fat and that's fine.

Will do. My blocked pour black head thingys are improving for the first time I can remember already so I’m optimistic

20th March

Seated DB snatch: 7.5kg 3x10
Lat raise: 7.5kg 2x8
Shrug: 30kg x10 47kg 3x0
Negative pull ups: 2x5
Pushups:20, 15

Still got man flu and didn't want to go to the gym when I can't go 30s without having to de-snot. But I discovered if I put the table in front of the door to keep it open I can do negative pull ups from the arm of the sofa to the seat.

What's your bw now (assuming halfway doesn'r mean you're 39kg  ). Sounds like decent squat etc if you're under 77kg.

Slightly bad wording with that  I'm 67kg, I've gained about 10kgs since I started and still about another 10kg to go

23rd March

weight 66.5kg

Squat: 20kg x10 40kg x5 50kg x5 60kg x5 70kg 3x5
Lunge: 18kg DBs x6 26kg DBs 3x6
Leg curl: 32kg x8 45kg x8 59kg 2x8 52kg x8

Man flu has turned into a bit of a chest infection so didn't want to make myself work too hard. 70kg squat felt heavy

My weight is the same as it was a month ago now which isn't good but can't sort that til I feel better

26th March

20mins yoga
I can't find a class that I can afford, is within walking distance and that's at a time I can make so youtube is the best I can do

27th March

Jump 5x1
DB Lunge with knee lift: 16kg x10 20kg 2x10
Side bend: 22kg 4x10
Romanian deadlifts: 40kg x3
deadlift: 40kg x3

I searched the whole gym (even found a bit I didn't know existed) but didn't find anything to jump onto that isn't behind a locked door. I might need to replace jumps since it feels a bit pointless without a target. I think I've got my balance good enough on lunges to try a bar again so I can get decent weight on it. I tried GHR but the machine confused me but I've unconfused myself now. Not properly ill now but still a bit awkward to breath

My back felt better, the deadlifts were uncomfortable but not the sort of pain I was having. If tomorrow I can still bend without pain then I'm going to cautiously start some rehab
