Nice squatting.

I like the look of that strength comp in May! Wish I was able to go.
if you drive I'd be down for chumming along and contributing gas money. Also if you're over 21 and have had a license for three years we can go in my car. Wouldn't charge you for gas as I need the practice so happy for the opportunity.

I'm over 21 and did have a motorbike provisional for two years, I suspect that's not much help. My plan is train then walk or there seems to be a bus if it's raining.

Looks like it's £30 to join which includes a month's membership so I guess I'll try to go a few times to make the most of having paid for it. Probably go on the 4th or 5th then the 6th since I'm off work then see after that, though need to contact the guy to find out how exactly to join.

Been hammered by life and work hence struggling to get updates down. Timing myself in the upload now to make it easier to schedule.

14/4/13 to 24/4/13
relapse of virus that recovered from the previous week. Maxing out a week after a virus probably a very bad idea.

24/4/13
easing back in given what i learned above
OHP 3x5x35kg
Pull ups 3x3

27/4/13
Squat 3x5x80kg
Farmers walk dumbells 5 short lengths at 31kg a hand
Farmers walk with 46kg dumbells a hand for two half short lengths

Getting better but still not feeling great ...

30/4/13
Bench (touch and go) 3x5x55kg
BB row 3x5x60kg
Farmers walk 8 mins with 31kg each hand

1/5/13
Deadlift 2x160kg in 75 seconds

2/5/13
Sprints for 15 mins

4/5/13
Day out at Hulk Gym in Fenton Barns with Blinki
Farmers walk 70kg for 15 metres
Yoke 140kg for 15 metres comfortable
Duck walk 115kg for 15 metres
Keg 80kg one load
Keg 80kg one running load
Axle deadlift 15" 100kg x 3
Almost got 160kg on axle deadlift but no dice

06/05/13
OHP push press 1x5x35kg
OHP push press 1x5x45kg
OHP push press 1x5x50kg (no belt)
Strict press 37.5kg 10/6/5
Pull ups green band 3x5

08/05/13
Deadlifts
1x5x87.5kg
1x5x102.5kg
1x5x115kg (+2)

Work and flat moving for the weekend. Lots of going up and down three flights of stairs.

13/5/13
OHP push press
1x5x35kg
1x5x45kg
1x5x50kg (no belt)
Exhausted from work/moving etc
Pull ups green band 3x5

15/5/13
Some half assed sled dragging. Will get noise complaints if I do it on the gravel so had to do it indoors.

16/5/13
Squat
3x5x80kg

18/5/13
Glasgow Strength Challenge
Got train through to Glasgow with Blinki
50kg Log Press x 6 reps Figured Blinki and I would be pretty close so since i went after Blinki aimed to get one more rep on this. Blinki got 5 so aimed for 6 and got it despite possibly the worst log form in the world ever. Highlights included a strict press and curling the log into position ... Next guy up got 8 I think so with better technique ... No video for this unfortunately.

140kg yoke and 70kg farmers walk Something went very wrong with the yoke. Was fairly comfortable at Hulk gym two weeks previous but felt really wrong and so went super slow. Farmers I went at a reasonable pace. Lost out to Blinki by 3 seconds on this. Would have been a bigger margin if Blinki hadn't dropped the farmers.

15" deadlift Deadlift 160kg for 6 reps Was expecting a two inch axle but turned out to be a normal bar which surprised me. Idea had been with an axle to just get one rep to move ahead of Blinki who was doing the 100kg option. After got the first rep wasn't really sure what to do so kept going. 6 reps was far more than i expected and the last rep felt dodgy so i quit with 20 seconds left on the clock. In retrospect a mistake as the two guys above me in this event were killing themselves to get 7 and 8 reps I think. Def had 7 left in me. Maybe even 8.

medley:100kg duck walk/70kg sled drag/50kg keg/80kg sandbag Was very worried I'd lose out to Blinki on this one and Blinki was certainly faster but I managed to move the sandbag to within a few feet of the line which put me ahead of Blinki and at least one other guy who wasn't able to shift it. Blinki has videos over on his log too.

Overall was 10/12, 12/12 on yoke/farmers walk (*sad music*), 6th out of 12 for deadlift (yey!), 9/12 for medley (duck walk, sled, keg, sandbag).

unfortunately not :( Bad run of luck.

Friend died, had a nasty cold (which picked up on planes back from the wake in USA), turned down for a raise at work and other very bad job stuff. Add to that relationship stuff and i just wasn't in a condition to compete sadly :( Bodyweight has gone way down to about 75/76 but bodyfat is back up.

Still been training but been so stressed/swamped that no time to update here. On beta blockers for the stress which really help.
res
Going to focus on the next one and try to hit the 67.5kg class i think.

I should change the title.

9kg dumbell swing 209 in 12 minutes

3/8/13
Deadlifts 1x5x140kg
Sprints for 10 minutes with a friend (better with a friend! Run faster :) )
