315 came up about a half an inch on the first try, but would not go any further. For the second one I got all pumped up thinking I would just pull it faster and it would go, but couldn't even budge it that time :| Almost tried one more time, but I knew it was useless and decided not to hurt myself

pretty tired after that, so just left.

Still not quite sure whether I am actually going to try to lose some fat, but I have been telling people I am, so will see if I'm a liar

I'm sure my scale is off though, because the one at the grocery store says I'm 194 lbs fully clothed and mine says ~198 lbs. This makes me think I may have to get even smaller than I previously thought to get body fat into the "fit" category, but I'm guessing at the math and am using a very inaccurate measurement system.

If you really want to do the fat loss thing I hear calipers are the best (albeit a tedious) method.

That the scale is off doesn't really matter if it is off consistently. I used to use a large dumbbell or plate to calibrate mine.

oh and congrats on the PBs :) *looks over shoulder nervously on the table* ;)

I've decided that I don't really want to lose fat but I'm going to anyway. Just can't keep getting fatter and fatter, so will do something about it now. I was planning to get some calipers to get a better idea of how much i will actually have to lose so I don't get skinnier than necessary. Will see if they have them in the supplement shop tomorrow, if not will be ordering some off amazon of something.

I don't think you have anything to worry about on the table  I'm quite a bit heavier than you and still some 70 kg behind.

Callipers only really work if they are used by someone skilled with them. Using them on yourself is next to worthless. Better off saving your money and just taking progress photos each week.

It's good you've finally decided on a goal. Now don't change your mind again eh? ;)

I've read a bunch of places that calipers are the only way to accurately measure your own body fat, so that was why I wanted to get some. The ones I was looking at seemed pretty easy to use, with a slider that marks the measurement so you don't lose it trying to read the thing. The ones at the store were like $17 though, so I'm not getting them. I don't know if pictures would help, even if I do remember to take them, because I'm not trying to look a certain way. The goal is to get body fat fairly low so I can start gaining weight again with a clean slate, instead of just putting more fat on top of the existing fat until I can't see my feet anymore.

I've had a chance to talk to several 300+ pound guys. Only one says just keep eating till I am big enough, and I'll never be big enough. But, he is pretty much a tub of lard with arms and legs. The others say that is definitely not the way to go unless I'm taking PEDs or want to be a fat blob. The consensus among the beasts is that I should get lean then start gaining weight slowly, working off fat as necessary. Seems you lose a lot of time and strength trying to get fat under control if you wait till the end.

various abs stuff then like 10 minutes on stationary bike, just messing around really, next week will get serious with conditioning, using this week as a transition sort of, since it was meant to be deload anyway

last week was deload so boring and I didn't log it.

Have been taking things easy with eating this week and only getting like 2500 calories a day, which is quite nice actually. Have been done with eating by ~7 every night, and it's a good break. I will push them up a bit now though since I will be adding in some conditioning work. Will be working that out as I go.

I cut my hand on a busted ceramic lamp yesterday and the cuts opened up when I was pressing . Blood started dripping down my arm and everything. Bandaged it up and went on, but grip was just shit, could barely hold on the bar for more than a couple seconds for pull ups. The machine went a bit better, but still grip was terrible.

5 reps at 90 lbs was harder than it should have been and I couldn't get #6 past chin level.

So tired today, kept "resting my eyes" while I was eating lunch, so downed some weird "natural" energy drink before lifting. It taste like stevia and ass, but worked okay I guess, lots of b vitamins and who the fuck knows, ginseng I think. Not near as potent as red bull, but was $1 today at the health food store so thought I might as well try it.

did 3 pull ups here while deciding what I was going to do

15 minutes on stationary bike with 1 minute max effort then just gave up.

didn't get to bed till late last night and woke up at 5 this morning, so the whole day was suboptimal. Upper back starting to cave on the last 2 reps at 195 lbs, probably could have got 1 or 2 more nasty looking reps, but decided against it.

Yep I had forgotten this about Callipers. You do need someone to do them with you and it has to be someone you don't mind getting up close and personal with. This is probably the reason I bought some and never used them.

I'm not too picky about who gets to feel me up  So, that really isn't an issue. Semi nude pictures of me is a completely different thing though. Actually, I'm not very comfortable with fully clothed pictures even, cameras make me nervous.

I've given up on finding my actual body fat percentage though, I'm just going to assume 20% and get down to like 168 lbs (76 kg). I think I've mostly just gotten fatter the past 6 months anyway, but it still sucks to think about being that skinny again.

Bodyweight was at 187 lbs (84.8 kg) this morning on the suspect scale, so i've lost ~3 lbs this last 2 weeks i think, or not

Didn't get to the gym as early as I wanted today, so was just rushing a bit. done in ~40 minutes

Deadlift
1x10@ 135 lbs
1x5@ 180 lbs
1x5@ 210 lbs

should have waited a bit longer before the last set, hadn't quite caught my breath yet

Front squat
up to 1x5@ 135 lbs

Hanging Leg Raise
2x12

15 minutes on stationary bike with a couple 1 minute max effort intervals at the end. Legs are fucked now, will be painful walking the next couple days I think

Legs were very sore so went for a walk, after ~20 minutes it started to rain, and I ran back home which was ~8-10 minutes I guess. Since I was dying already, I decided to run some suicide sprints afterwards, so did 3x6 lengths of ~75 feet (~23 meters) with a couple minutes between sets. Almost sick after that
