Training Begins Tomorrow

Postby JS » Wed Jan 20, 2010 1:07 pm

I'm lazy when it comes training and what I eat - always going to start tomorrow so thought I'd try keep a log to see if that's an incentive to keep me going!

First exercise in pretty much a month ran for 30 mins and feel sore for it :(

Made mental note to buy a waterproof running jacket as it was cold and wet out there today

I can agree that it's easy to procrastinate. that word has been my middle name for my entire life. haha. for some reason, once I get started with an exercise regimen, that I get pretty militant about it. meaning it's hard to get started, but once I get going, I get addicted to it.

best of luck!!! will be checkin your log.

Ok so it's been 4 days since I last did any exercise (doesn't include walking as I don't think as that as exercise unless I'm off on a long hike).

Friday I had a much needed sports massage - why do they hurt so much :(

Sat/Sun I rested as running shoes at work - well that's my excuse! :)

Purchased all weather shell for running and a new bag that I can fit trainers in so no more I left my trainers at work excuses!

So off I set today for a 30 minute run by the river - contemplated interval type running - found it hard so resorted to my gentle plod. Did run a little further than I would in 30 minutes so bonus - feel I at least accomplished something different today. Must make an effort to see how far I have been running.

Vegan Hal anf Dublin Dave - cheers for the support :)

Well another 30 mins running under the belt - not feeling so good for it though as my legs were like lead today :(

Gotta keep going.

A nice rest day tomorrow and then maybe a run Thursday. Off on hols Friday so will be doing plenty of exercise getting up of my backside everytime I fall in the snow! :)

So I made it back after a 6 days of snowboarding..........it was my 2nd week of trying the sport and decided to go for lessons as it's not an easy sport to master. I had forgotten how tiring it can be. Lots of jelly legs through tiredness and fear LOL! I have a sore bottom and feel like I have done a 1000 tricep dips pushing myseof back up on to my feet but all good :)

Spent a fair few evenings dancing too so had a good lot of exercise for the week and feel pretty good for it :) I think the working at altitude helps fitness levels improve too :) Ignoring the alcohol intake - there was a lot!!!!!

Played 5 a-side footy last night for 50 mins and we drew 14-14 - great game and involved much running for the hour.

Rest day today............ah...............just what I need :)

Played 40 minutes of squash last night - well tried as sore neck from sleeping funny and also feeling drained since my hols and footy Monday night :( It lifted my mood a little so all good :)

Thursday is rest day :) - one of my fav days :)

Hoping I soon get to the point where I feel not so beat from exercise...........hmm unless I'm dehydrated so going make the effort to drink lots if water :)

Definately does. When I last got back from the Himalaya I had a chest infection (the curse of the climber!) but bobbed off to Skidaw and still flew up it 2 hours. Seemed like I had wings.

Firiday and it's sport massage day today so I'll feel like I have had a work out after the hour is done - I can feel the pain already! To quote June as she digs her fingers into my tight muscles - "remember love your therapist!" :D

Survived the much needed massge on Friday and it was as painful as I thought it was going to be!

Spent the weekend resting as I am still feeling a bit wiped out :(

Played 5's last night and it was a hard fast and physical game for the 50 minutes. We were winning until about 10 minutes to go and we got tired. They had the advantage of a sub and we could have certainly done with fresh legs on the pitch to try to maintain our lead but we lost 9-6 in the end.

Easy day for me today to let my joints rest after the knocks last night.

Gutted been doing the usual squash and footy but got injured last night at footy - stretched the ligaments a little too far in my ankle so currently at home leg up. Doc reckons 4-6 weeks until it's better :(

Got back to doing excercise this week after the sprained ankle and so far so good :)

Thursday pootled for a lunch time run for about 30 minutes with one of the lasses from HR. It was raining and hailing for about 5 minutes and I felt so alive. Went out again today with the same lass but this time in the drizzle and again felt amazing in terms of my mental mood - quite an amazing buzz, much more than I've ever had before during exercise - a bonus for having been out of action for so long :)

Just got to keep it up now - the exercise and the mood :)

Muscles feeling tight - still need to work on stretching!!!!!

Managed another run yesterday so that's 3 in 5 days. Finding it hard work it has to be said. Ankle is feeling sore but my wobble board arrived today so hopefully I'll get on that to get my strength back and then I can hit the squash court and footy pitch :)
