I've not tracked bodyfat levels so I don't know. Abs are gone though :|

Lordmuppet wrote:edited to also say: really happy to see your bench moving up again! :) When was last PR before this one?

I only really do paused bench around comp time, my previous best was from my comp last November. My all-time best bench is 85kg, so I will beat this soon.

Yah, benching has always been my poorest lift, but it's improving slowly.

Saturday 7/7, Comp day: Greater London Club Championships

BW: 72.7kg

Squats
140kg
150kg
155kg PB

Bench
77.5kg
82.5kg
85kg SB

Deadlift
180kg
187.5kg PB
192.5kg PB

Total: 432.5kg PB

Today went really well. Another well-run competition at our club, there was about 35 lifters altogether so it was a great turnout.

Lots of PB's, 9 for 9. Not really much else to report about today as just about everything went as planned.

Squats were not too difficult. Happy to get 155kg, I think I should be able to do more soon.

Getting 85kg on the bench was also great, it's equal to my non-paused PB so I am fairly sure that touch-and-go I would be good for at least 90.

Deadlifts were the real standout for the day. Although going into today my deadlifts were probably my weakest lift in terms of my recent improvements in squat and bench, so I wasn't expecting much with the pulls. My original plan was to open with 170kg, but during the warmups I felt good so I decided to have my last warm up at 160kg and change my opening pull to a sneaky 180kg. All three deadlifts felt like shopping bags, so I am fairly confident of getting more than that (hopefully 200kg) soon.

I came second out of three lifters for my weight class. Got another nice little trophy. Starting to feel like I'm not just making up the numbers anymore.

Totally wrecked now.

I know some videos were taken of the benching and deadlifts, it should be added to the club facebook page at some stage.

200kg will be immense! Then we can start talking about 3xbw deadlift.

Great comp, how do you looking as far as totals now to qualify for the nationals?

If I stay at 74kg, I need to get a 475kg total. This is not out of the realms of possibility by the end of the year. Something like 170 / 95 / 210 would get me through. Some more bulking and cutting would be required though.

Thursday, 12/7

Squats
5 x 60kg
5 x 80kg
5 x 100kg
5x3 x 120kg

Bench
5 x 40kg
3 x 60kg
3x3 x 70kg

Got to the gym really late and had to rush, so a bit of a wasted session. Away for the next few days, will start to think about a new training program to start on Tuesday.
