Back is super tight/sore today. That's what happens when you squat on your toes, I suppose.

Stretching tonite.

I think I did the same thing I did in August today to my back. Standing and lying is basically pain free, but sitting is excruciating. fack.

Squat: 1x5 @ 102.5 (on 5lb plates)
Bench:
5 - 62.5
3 - 80
1 - 92.5 (w/pause)
1 - 102.5 (w/pause) - PR
F - 107.5
Dead: 1xf @ 125

Squats felt great with elevated heels. Should have my shoes back in about a week.

Tweaked back on the first dl pull. I have absolutely no clue what the hell I was thinking going for that given how my back is been feeling.

The powerlifting gods will disown me for even thinking this, but given my leverages combined with my injury, I thought about deadlifting with an open parallel-grip deadlift bar today. I can lock my back with zero pain with it (which I can't even do period, let alone without pain, on conventional and sumo pulls) and overall it feels great. Fucking injuries.

Also I worked out with earbuds today for the first time. I'm convinced I would have gotten that 107.5 without them in. They got me amped for the pulls, but were otherwise pretty distracting.

Think that is called the trap bar, healing vibes to your back. Some foam roller work maybe?

Yeah I wanted to differentiate it from the closed bar. I don't know why I didn't just say open trap bar

Also, in my search for appropriate pics, I came across this marvel:

Training is super sporadic :?

I blame it on maxing out of sequence. Also its a busy time of year that's especially hectic this year.

Will get in whenever I can from now to the new year, back feels better but not ready to squat over 100 yet. Shoes came today and the epic Strength Shop belt should be here any day

Beginning of next week is the target.

12.13.10

Squat: 3x5 @ 92.5
Bench: 3x5 @ 80

First session with shoes; they felt amazing. But set 3 rep 5 of the squat = tweaked back... AGAIN :?

Bummer about the injury, but your plan is wise. Frustrating, but wise.

2011 Goals:

BW: 100
Squat: 184
Bench: 143
Deadlift: Stay injury free--numbers TBD
Press: 102
Pull Ups: 10 @ BW

First workout of the new year tonite.

Doing a 75% reset on all lifts and switching from the Original Novice Program to the Practical Programming Novice Program.

Monday
3x5 Squat
3x5 Bench / Press (Alternating)
Chin-ups: 3 sets to failure (until 3x5)

Wednesday
3x5 Squat
3x5 Press / Bench (Alternating)
1x5 Deadlift

Friday
3x5 Squat
3x5 Bench / Press (Alternating)
Pull-ups: 3 sets to failure (until 3x5)

With Chin/Pull and Deadlift alternating sessions rather than 1 deadlift and 2 chin/pull lifts a week. Super pumped.

I had all these elaborate plans for this routine for squat combined with that routine modified for bench for 7 weeks, followed by this routine for 3 weeks, etc. etc. for the whole year. I think i'll just stick with lifting heavy fucking weights a lot until further notice and see what happens.

1.3.10

BW: 106.7

Squat: 3x5 @ 85
Bench: 3x5 @ 70
TBDL: 3x5 @ 85
Barbell Rollouts: 1x5

All press warm ups with Fat Grips. Full rollouts are brutal, especially for a fat guy such as myself.
