Kali's Woman Beast Log (Take Two)

Postby KaliBaby » Sun Sep 20, 2009 11:16 am

since I'm starting a new chapter in my life (masters program in a foreign country), I thought it might be a nice idea to start a new log :D

the weather is BEAUTIFUL today! makes me really happy 8) I jogged through a park this morning and then did some trail running through the university's grounds around/behind a lake. it was soooo much fun, reminded me of running down Mount Kilimanjaro. there are so many trails back there that I don't think I'll ever get bored.

jog/running: 40 minutes
walked back to my flat: less than 15 minutes

abs:
1 minute plank
2X side planks
another 1 minute plank with leg lifts

induction week starts tomorrow, I'm excited to meet more people in my program. my flat is like a mini China Town except for one girl who is Colombian (still haven't met her). one of my new flat mate friends offered to let me borrow his rice cooker which is cool of him. overall, now that the stress of leaving home is over, I'm glad to be settled in my new home and can't wait for what the future holds!

Cool Line. I'm taking that for my tag.

Good luck with your studies.

I am dreading the day when you deadlift more than me.

after suffering from terrible back pain post-DLs, I don't think I'm going to set any new PBs for awhile. I need to start from square one and work on better form.

I'm hoping to join a climbing club, sign-ups are today I think. the rock climbing wall in the gym is massive and I want to conquer it!!! there is a 'fair' called Sportsmart today where all the sports clubs set up tables and get new recruits. maybe I'll find multiple sports to try out, who knows!

went for another run this morning. bright sunshine + a cool breeze + scenic running route = happy Kali :D

30 minute run

abs/core:

1 minute plank
2X side planks with hip dips
plank with leg lifts
3X10 leg raises
3X10 bridges

maybe tomorrow I'll try a session in the gym. I want to see if there's any competition with my British counterparts

today was my first day of climbing!!!! I learned how to tie proper knots and secure my harness, how to belay AND I climbed up part of the wall :D I was able to shoot up the wall really fast but then as soon as I looked down I freaked out hahahha. also, my shorts gave me a total wedgie so definitely will be wearing spandex next time

ok, I must profess my fascination for the store Argos. how cool is it that you look up whatever item you want in a catalogue and then people bring it to you. maybe you Brits are used to this geniusness and think me silly but I don't care!!! :P I got a yoga set so now I can practice in my room... finally!!!

so to sum up today's physical activity:

probably only 20 real minutes of climbing

yoga: 12 sun salutations

core work with exercise ball:

2X25 crunches
2X10 leg extensions
2X10 bridges
1 minute plank

yeah yeah... rub it in Crash hahaha

seasiren - I'm adjusting in some ways more than others haha. I fear that I will develop a serious drinking problem during the next year if I try to keep up with my British classmates

Emm - so far the week is starting off well. I got a bus pass so I won't have to juggle foreign currency in my hands that I still haven't figured out yet haha. classes start for real tomorrow, I have a bunch of readings to start tonight but all things I'm interested in... hopefully will fly by reasonably quickly. oh, and here's a hug for you *big hug*
