Fri - rest again (work getting in the way really)
Sat - 18 miles again slow because running with some guys at the club... but still was fine covering the miles. Think I'll start going solo for these long runs soon as the pace is too slow on club runs.

Got a slight strain on foot so taking Sunday off... so it really is a reduction week with 32 miles done.. should go up to 50 next week.

Fri - fuck that ... it's FRIDAAAAAAY.... ate takeaway indian if that counts as training
Sat - 20 miles lovely, took in ivinghoe beacon, ashridge forest & dunstable downs among other bits :) Had to go coach triathlon 40 mins after I got in though.... tough ask! My plyometric demonstrations were a bit half baked.

Sun - 22.5 tough but nice :)

48 mile week again... I'll be OK for ultra but would prefer another 6 / 7 weeks because this has been a tough mileage increase and I'm still not where I should be on the long runs - I'm OK for marathon, but not really for ultra.

Odd week last week ...

Mon - rest
Tue - 7 miles steady
Wed - work
Thurs - Bastard work
Fri - 6 miles steady
Sat - Baby shopping
Sun - 20 miles... tried to do it a bit faster than usual, as I've just been focused on mileage to get ready. Managed 2:53 so was reasonably happy as I've done no speed work or intervals. I do need more stretching though, my back hurt by the end and I have very tight hams...

33 mile week - mileage down before my taper starts, but who cares, life got in the way and life is good.

Surely it's better to overtaper anyway, that's my belief at least.

Sorry I missed the details, what distance and date are we looking at here?

[quote="skoptic"]Sat - Baby shopping

Did you get one?

Heh... no decent babies on sale in the shops, but wifey is cooking one that is due in 4 weeks :) .. Our first, so let the mayhem commence!

I'm running a 40 miler (with 4000ft ascent) on the 7th.. I'm woefully under-prepared, but it's raising funds for a good friend who is 34, has 4 kids and had a brain bleed, went into a coma, and currently can't see, talk, move (he can thumbs up and move one leg a bit). I'll get round for him.. and my pain won't even compare to his.....

How did I know I was going to wake up to this ;) OK this log post is officially for you..

Mon - rest day .. shit man, had such a power weekend I thought I'd rest hard and get ready for the CRAZY BURN tomorrow. Ate 15 plates of porridge with peanut butter.... RAAAAAAAAAAA

Tue - YEAH... WHOOOP.. I NAILED IT, a 7 mile run with the club. Thought I wasn't going to make it to the top of this hill one time, but my bro' spotting me totally helped me get there. That's a height PB for me ... FUCK YEAH.. now I'm off for roids on toast.

Wed - My back is sore, but I'm gonna squat the pain away... 7 miles again in the sunshine. I'm gonna carry over to fronties and let rip although my knee is a bit tweaked.
