OK - We're back up and running now....

Sat -
5 mile run steady.. nice and wet in the woods today so I put on waterproof socks and try to go through as many puddles as possible :-)
Spend the afternoon swim coaching our junior Tri club.. and then did loads of weights in the gym by the pool (free gym!)

Sun -
15 mile run .. first 9 were as part of a relay team for a 3 lap marathon, I went first and then jogged back round and extra 6 miles and took some photos of people. Was nice to get some decent miles in ... body seems fine with it.

Mon -
2k swim. pyramid set in tshirts... with technique drills in between
3 x 12 bent row, shoulder press, bicep curl

:!: :!: Can't say I've heard of that one before. Like a cheaper drag suit, eh?

Yeah - our tri club swim twice a week in the winter and we use tshirts every other week or so. It's a very cheap and very effective way of creating drag.. and it's a good use for all those event tshirts :-)

Tues -
7 miles steady with club
Weights 12x3 bent Row, shoulder press & bicep curl

Wed - work

Thurs -
7 miles steady with club
2k swim
Weights - loads of good stuff in the gym

Sat
4 miles easy
Weights 12x3 bent Row, shoulder press & bicep curl

Sun
15 miles .. felt good and strong at the end but the sun went and I was on country lanes.

I need to add biking from next week (turbo sessions to start off) and get the run mileage up to decent levels. The swimming is just coming back on track after quite a few weeks off recently. Just been piecing together the training schedule uber excel spreadsheet for the next 33 weeks of training joy :-) I love a nice colour coded training schedule....

cool :D i remember in primary school we had lessons where we used to swim fully clothed... some sort of survival swimming test i think...

what sort of sound editing work do you do? i dabbled in sound editing at uni... FUCK its hard work. the amount of nights i spent sleeping in the sound editing room... so foul :D but it was good fun nonetheless. wasnt the greatest film but had a cool car crash sequence and some other fun things to play around with!
*take me to the mediocrity dungeon*

Yeah - I remember swimming fully clothes too! Was that the same kind of test where you had to get a brick from the bottom of the pool? .. Anyways

So I sound edit for film mainly but some TV drama stuff too. Basically an FX editor - but do some dialogues too if needed. I try to keep it 9-5 ... although some productions can get a bit hectic. But my sport is a very important hobby - so people know that I'll work hard - but I eat vegan and train hard too.

Mon
2k swim - including 1200 as 100 crawl, 100 IM on repeat!!
4x12 bent row, bicep curl, shoulder press

Am focusing on taking my breath a little later (swimming) so I roll more naturally. Also letting wrist drop a little after entry before catch .. think these 2 just got me down to 15/16 strokes per length (from 16/17).... nice.

Sat - 18 1/2 miles through the snow :-) Got up early and watched the sun rise while running in the deep snow. A new local route with a guy at the Tri club.

Mon - 1k swim

Been really snowy which has upset the normal run of things... but everything looks nice. I'm off to Scotland tomorrow.
