Hey congrats!! I've heard some great reports about some of those races.... good luck with all the training :)

Yeah - not too good on the bank balances are they all these IM & 1/2IM's! Costs a small mortgage to achieve your dreams ;)

Hey cheers guys.

Yeah they are not the cheapest, but the way I see it there are worse things I could do. I don't drink, don't smoke - heaven forbid!) and eat like a rabbit. So the races are my little indulgence.

Wednesday

2 X 5Km run to deliver/collect car from it's service.

Thursday

3000m Swim as 30 X 100

Should have been a turbo set tonight but I crashed after shifting a couple of tons of Horse manure to mulch my garden!

Friday

2 1/2 Run in Radnor Forest.

Took the dogs back to Radnor for another run, enjoyed it so much on monday decided to go again for the last day of my half term. Either that or I'll find myself with another gardening job!
The snow has all gone so it was much easier going. The dogs loved it too. Finally remembered to take a camera. Clouds and rain stopped me getting any of the great views but here's a picture of the dogs.

Panic buying from a couple of weeks ago when it snowed. Now feel that I have to get my moneys worth. It did pour down today!

Lots of forestry roads / fire trails which vary in ruggidness and muddiness. If there has been any forestry work going on they get very churned up. The photo is on a stretch that has a bed of rotting pine needles over it.
It's a tough route. It basically goes up and up for 90 minutes, with the odd little descent. Back down is very fast even I have clocked 5.5 minute miles coming down, must be good for technique.

Sunday

30 minute recovery run with Poppa on the Bromyard Downs. Took her through the woods which she really enjoys as there are lots of sniffing opportunities.
Then she met a little JR and had a great time playing. Meanwhile I was trying to keep up. Dogs are amazing.

Monday

Park and Run Commute
but very short today about 15 minutes each way, legs need to recover

3000m Swim
as 15 X 200
increasing speed in first 4 then holding.

Tuesday

Parents evening Grrr Boo! but found there was a 90 min gap between finishing work and it starting so I managed to squeeze a 45 minute tempo run in.

Sunday 26th

Bourton on the water 10k
Ouch entered this before Christmas and pre Christmas flu had intended to do lots of speed work and several events leading up to this. Anyhow we are where we are! So straight in with no speed work at all. Yes it hurt, but what doesn't kill you will get you fit right! :twisted: 2 minutes outside pb

Monday

Park and Run Commute 2 x 30 min run

2000m swim as
400 warm up
15 x 100 coming in on 1:30 to 1:35 ....really had to push hard for these / off 2 mins so lots of rest
100 cool down

Tuesday

Park and Run commute 2 x 30 min run

45 min Turbo
Spinervals 2.0 "sweating buckets" .... err yes it's a very well named set!

Wednesday

Park and run commute
1 x 20 min
1 x 45 min run with 5 x 1k

3000m swim as
2 x 1500m
1st 1500 continuous as 500 easy, 500 medium, 500 at oly pace
2nd 1500 medium pace

Thursday

Park and run comute - parked closer so 2 x 15 min

Friday

Park and Run commute - again parked close due to below
2 x 15 min

Lunch time 10k Run time trial on the Worcester Pitchcroft 10k course
Horrid course 3 and a bit laps nothing but pain to think of.

3000m swim as
30 x 100m coming in on 1:40, 20 sec rest -
would be quite happy if I could hold this on the Ironman. ("ironman" with small i according to Chrissie Wellington new book - which is a very inspiring read btw and has given me lots of new ideas for my training)

I'm getting worse at keeping this blog it seems!

Saturday 3rd March

rain rain and more rain. Forecast for the afternoon looked better so we headed to Radnor with MTBs. And it rained some more. After an hour I could hardly see where I was going and was covered head to toe in mud. Wasn't having much fun so we bailed!

Monday

2 hour run with 10 X 1k at 10k pace.
Tough hilly road run around the Tedstone Delamere loop. Most of the reps were hill reps including the 20%er at Tedstone Delamere.

Tuesday

2000m swim with 15 X 100 on 1:30 to 1:35 which is a big ask at the moment, pleased to have made them.

Wednesday

Park and run Commute 2 x 25 min

Thursday

Park and run Commute
2 x 25 min

1 hour 25 min Turbo
Spinervals 16.0 Aerobic base builder

Friday

Park and walk commute!! Legs are heavy!

40 min run with (4 x 15 sec very hard - 15 sec easy) x 4 with 1 min rest
This one always loosens the legs somehow, feel much better.

2700m swim as
300 warm up
6 x 300 at Ironman pace
8 x 50 at Oly pace
200 cool down

Saturday
Rest

Sunday

Peopleton Duathlon 4 mile run - 18 mile bike - 2 mile run

2nd in my age group (miles behind the winner but she has previously been World champ at long and short Duathlon so I don't feel so bad. And she holds the age group record for IM Lanza).
10th overall lady

Good first run for me in 28:59
Went a bit down hill after that. I need to start interval sessions and time trials on the bike.
Good Tempo / Brick session which was the main purpose of doing this.

do you really mean "on" in the normal sense as in that's when you are leaving (every 1.30)? or do you mean that's how long each 100m is taking you? If the former, you are really swimming quite well!
